American Idol 2013 producers have announced that the March 7 episode when the Top 10 are revealed will be a super-sized 90-minute episode.

Keep in mind that is the third night that week of American Idol. On Tuesday of that week, the Top 10 guys perform, then on Wednesday the Top 10 girls sing. Both of those are two hours long. So that’s 5 and a half hours of American Idol in one week. Aaaaaaaaack! Overkill!

On Thursday, March 7, FOX rocks with an evening of music that kicks off with a special 90-minute episode of AMERICAN IDOL (8:00-9:30 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) when America’s votes are tallied and the Season 12 finalists are revealed LIVE.

In the super-sized 90-minute episode of AMERICAN IDOL (8:00-9:30 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), America’s votes will be announced and fans will finally find out who will advance to the finals and who will go home. Don’t miss the reactions of judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban, along with host Ryan Seacrest, when the results are revealed LIVE from Los Angeles. — Fox

Is 5.5 hours of Idol on one week too much or am I alone in thinking that?
