After weeks of seeing a single finalist crush the rest of the crowd there were three extremely even positioned players. Caleb Johnson (23%), Sam Woolf (22%), and Jena Irene (21%) were all within one point of each other sitting at the low 20% marks. If these three ended up as the American Idol Season 13’s Top 3 I don’t think most would be surprised though it’d be an incredible comeback for Sam after being voted off the show a few weeks ago.

Caught in the middle last week were finalists Alex Preston at 15% and Jessica Meuse at 13%. Those two singers could find themselves in trouble this week without a big moment now that their buffer, CJ, was voted out. CJ Harris pulled in just 3% of the vote and likely didn’t surprise most when he was eliminated on Thursday.

After two weeks in the Bottom 2 Jessica seems to be the most likely candidate to return there and possible be eliminated if all things stood the same, but with so few options left we could be due for some big surprises in this week’s American Idol results.

American Idol 2014 Top 6 Week Rankings:

  1. Caleb Johnson – 23% – up 11 points from last week
  2. Sam Woolf – 22% – up 8 points from last week
  3. Jena Irene – 21% – down 22 points from last week
  4. Alex Preston – 15% – up 3 points from last week
  5. Jessica Meuse – 12% – up 4 points from last week
  6. CJ Harris – 3% – down 2 points from last week – eliminated

Do you think Jessica or Alex can pull themselves up to the top of the list this week and avoid elimination? We’ll find out tomorrow night!

  1. I think the producers know exactly what they’re doing this week. It’s Jason Mraz week, of course Alex is going to use his excitement from that to step his game back up ahead of Sam for a Jena, Caleb & Alex top 3! My guess is that Sam goes home this week and Jessica next week, since the judges and producers have gotten so much backlash from not supporting her more, being harsh on her, etc. I think Sam will take the fall to please Jess’s fans, since they seem to have a bigger outcry than Sam’s. I personally don’t care if either one of them goes home this week, though. Sam just doesn’t have a big enough or unique enough voice, and Jessica still isn’t showing enough emotion or vibrato control for my taste, personally.

I’m still learning to love, and starting to crawl.

Ok, so I guess he is singing “Say Something” by A great Big World. this is a great choice for Alex! I wish he would do “All of Me” by John Legend.

    so much SINGing!
“Sing” by Ed Sheeran. I actually had hoped Alex would pick this one.

  5. Jena tweeted:

    i won’t quit, cuz i want more
That is “My Body” by Young the Giant. Would much rather have Sam or Alex sing this.

  6. sam wolf number 2??
things are never changes , people always vote for the cute guy
im starting to feel like he is going to suprise and win
even though the winner must be jena or caleb but i feel like america will disapoint once again

  7. There’s only one with the entire package and that’s Sam. He deserves to win.

  8. If Alex takes a well known, loved song like say something and sings it like he normally does(taking it apart and putting a coffee house feel to it) I could see him going home for that. Better tread closely.

  9. I literally cried the day Malaya got eliminated it was saddening …..isn’t she one of the best ….. The judges shouldn’t have wasted their save on Sam .. Malaya was wwwwwaaaaayyy better

    • Different tastes, I guess. I found her awful and muted most of each song she sang. But she’s too young anyway so she has time to refine her technique.

  10. Jessica has a great voice and the talent to go far, unfortunately: she has zero stage presence. The judges have tried giving her feedback about it but it doesn’t seem to be clicking for her. Sad, I would have liked to seen her do well. I think she goes this week. Caleb looks like the shoe in for the win but rockers never finish last on Idol, so he could fall out of the lead soon. Sam & Alex both have great voices but neither of them have ever made me see them as the American Idol. They just lack some connection to the crowd. Jena has really stepped up her game and could very well win.

  11. I think Alex is as good as Jason Mraz If you take time tonight and listen to Alex’s voice you might say he is better then Jason Mraz. that is very tough for me to say because I think Jason has a great voice. Sorry Jason!

  12. I think Jessica stepped up this week with Human, she actually had a connection to the song which I think is important. Hope she pulls out of the bottom, I don’t want to see her go home yet!
