We’re live recapping the Top 5 performances here so stay with us during tonight’s episode to find out which contestant has earned your supports and who will be sent home now that the Idol Fan Save is over and gone. That puts the pressure on and your votes on the line as host Ryan Seacrest prepares to dim the lights and share your results.

How to vote for your favorite Idol contestants:

Clark Beckham performs “Living For The City”

This is sort of an American Idol staple at this time, so the song choice is not a surprise. But Clark picking it a bit of a surprise. But of course Clark handled it perfectly well. I can say that it’s not my favorite performance of his, but he did manage to amp up his stage presence and performance value. So I think overall, that was a good one for Clark.

Jax performs “Empire State of Mind”

I think Jax just stole Clark’s spotlight. I don’t know if it’s enough for her to actually take the lead in this race, but I think it was my favorite performance by Jax. It was just different and more natural. Which is what I ALWAYS write about her. I cannot stand when a great singer like her tries that gimmicky voice she has given us all season. This was so much more natural and so much better. So glad she did this.

Nick Fradiani performs “Bright Lights”

I wasn’t sure this was the  best song choice for Nick when I heard he was doing it, but I actually liked the performance. It was actually pretty perfect for him as far as vocals go. I don’t know if it’s a popular enough song to really help him make it to the Final 3 next week, but at least the performance was solid.

It’s time to find out who is staying and who is going between Tyanna Jones and Rayvon Jones. And for some crazy reason, Rayvon stays and Tyanna goes.

Tyanna Jones performs “Run The World (Girls)”

Rayvon Owen performs “Need You Now”

What was that weird Disney-version beginning? That was atrocious. Like I was almost embarrassed. Actually, the entire arrangement was kind of ridiculous, but it did get better a little later on. But at least the vocals were OK. Just not a fan of that arrangement at all.

ROUND TWO

 Clark Beckham performs “Your Man”

Well this is a much different version of the song than we’re used to here in the American Idol world. I’m of course talking about Scotty McCreery’s famous bass-y version. I was never a fan of that version, if I’m being honest, but I really liked Clark’s. And kudos to Clark for standing up for who he is to Scott. Of course if he wins and the label owns him, he won’t have a say, so he needs to get over that right now.

Jax performs “Human”

Jax definitely wins the night and it’s clear that Idol producers are trying to push her ahead of Clark. I think that she might actually be more marketable than Clark, but America will vote for who they want. This was another great performance by Jax (even though her fake gimmicky voice made a return), so I think it’s safe to say she’s making it through next week’s cut.

How to vote for Jax:

  • Call: 1-866-IDOLS-o7

Rayvon Owen performs “Believe”

I think Rayvon is a great performer and this was a good performance, but I don’t think it’s final 3 worthy. But he did have a strong emotional connection to the song, so that’s definitely a bonus.

How to vote for Rayvon:

  • Text: 2 to 21523
  • Call: 1-866-IDOLS-o2

Nick Fradiani performs “What Hurts the Most”

I liked this performance, but I do have to say that Nick kind of sounds the same on every song. But I guess that’s just his sound. I mean I’d like to hear some diversity from him at least, though. But I think he might have warned himself a spot in the final 3. That is if Rayvon’s nine lives are up.
