This is the first time ever John Wayne Schulz has performed without his lucky black cowboy hat. Host Ryan Seacrest hardly even recognizes him without it, and neither do we! Even though his lucky hat has gone missing, John Wayne still gives a great performance for the American Idol judges in the last Hollywood Week solo round!
In a bold move, John Wayne Schulz actually chose to do “John 3:16” by Keith Urban for his solo song. It’s always a brave decision, in our opinion, to sing one of the American Idol judges’ songs right in front of them!
Luckily, he does a terrific job and we think he’s a strong contender to move on to the next round. We’ll just have to wait and see how the competition does!
