American Idol Recap: Top 14 Wild Cards Perform

The Top 14 Wild Card performances continued with the second half of the ten contestants singing for your votes on American Idol 2016.

Jenn Blosil, “True Colors.” I don’t think I’ll be on board with Jenn. To me, this was annoying and shrill and kind of ruined this Cyndi Lauper song. The ending wasn’t too bad, but I’m just not a Jenn fan. Sorry.

Vote for Jenn: 1-866-436-5706

Lee Jean, “Make It Rain.” This was a smart choice for Lee to do again, because it was definitely his one of his best prior efforts. And it was good again. It was smooth and he even seemed a bit more mature than he has in the past. I hope America gives Lee a shot.

Vote for Lee: 1-866-436-5707

Sonika Vaid, “I Surrender.” I’m really glad she picked a Celine Dion song to sing tonight because she really needed to showcase her vocals to get her well-deserved spot in the Top 10. And she definitely showed it with this performance. If she doesn’t make it into the Top 10, America should have their voting rights revoked.

Vote for Sonika: 1-866-436-5708

Jeneve Rose Mitchell, “Ring of Fire.” This is a smart song choice, but not a smart arrangement. This song should never be performed like this. I think I may have liked it more the first time she performed it before I was over her, but I definitely didn’t like it this time. There were a few OK moments vocally, but overall I wasn’t a fan.

Vote for Jeneve: 1-866-436-5709

MacKenzie Bourg, “Roses.” I’m impressed MacKenzie got to perform his own song. I’m also impressed by the performance. That’s a great original song and you could tell how comfortable he is performing his own music. This guy is truly talented and I’m pretty sure he secured his spot in the Top 10 with this one.

Vote for MacKenzie: 1-866-436-5710
