Back home in Memphis, CJ Johnson is the lead singer for a band called American Fiction, but in front of the American Idol judges, he has to go it alone. Happily for CJ, he totally rocks the celebrity panel with his performance of Hall & Oates. CJ is a true musician who is desperately seeking that big break to take him to the next level, and he’s hoping his Golden Ticket to Hollywood will take him there!
All three of the American Idol judges are loving on this guy’s awesome talent and it’s three BIG yes votes for CJ Johnson to go through to Hollywood Week. Keith Urban said he immediately connected with CJ as a fellow road warrior, while Harry Connick Jr. loved the young man’s energy.
