  1. I already had the opportunity to meet Scotty at the Mall of America and got his autograph on his CD.  I’d hope to see him in June, but have to wait and see if the date will work around a trip to England.

    •  Just a quick congratulations again to Scott.

And to all Scott haters out there:
it’s “Mr. Scott Mcreery” to you guys right??  Try to explain that to the many ticket buyers who will watch his concert with Brad Paisley , how many more additional events “43” ? that he won by a fluke and the only reason he won was because of some over excited teens with  an overworked smart phones being assisted by a lot of grand mothers that’s why he won last year’s Idol.  I am sure Scott will be thinking of you while he relaxes and count all his blessings while you continue to grumble and complain why he won instead of who ever you liked last year.

I’m just kidding around folks please don’t take me too seriously,LOL

Oh ,to set the record straight I am not a fan of Scott but I do like him and I am glad he won!!

      • Nothing against Scotty……he’s just not my kind of singer…..but I do like country music just not Scottys.

      • Ed,

While i realize that you are joking and you said not to be taken too seriously…its still there.
It appears that YOU are now the one trying to stir the pot about Scotty.
Whether or not anyone chooses to believe it…Scotty drew a whole lot of criticsm about being American Idol’s winner.  What is done, is done.  We all get that.

But do you hear Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson getting all this hate?  Hmm…not really.

The sides go both ways.  Everyone needs to respect each others opinions on here.

I truly believe that Scotty did not deserve to win, on any account.
That being said, I am not denying his success.  He will be a good country singer.  But had Pia, or James, or Haley been in the #1 spot, I believe they would have had just as much if not more success.  Again, this is my opinion…agree or disagree

You say you are just kidding around, but whether or not you are kidding around, its going to stir the pot up again.

I am not a fan of Scotty, but I do generally like the kid.  I am a huge fan of country artists, but definately not Scotty.

      • SalvX, I respect your opinion, but Scotty does not have a terrible voice like you make him out to have. I didn’t want him to win last year either, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say he isn’t a good singer. By the way, where are the audiophile rankings from Wednesday?

      • Its still KC…you can find them in american idol 2012 TOP 13 elimination predictions.

      • Hi Salvx,
I do respect your opinion!  I am not stirring any pot, I am stating what I have seen on this very column, including your own comments.  It makes me wonder how much hate Scott has recieved from you guys and yet we see news like the above “thanks to Matt” …… a very popular country music star have invited our Idol winner to tour with him not once, not twice but many times, I am sure that Brad did not invite him because he feel sorry for the kid.

Now, I am no longer interested in pursuing this subject matter since I believe everyone here understand why I wrote this comment.  Allow me to suggest that you  do too, try  give it a rest as well and give Mr. Mcreery the credit that he deserves.

I said before I do like Scott, I am not a fan of his music yet, but I do like country music too.  It really doesn’t matter to me how he won, the reality is he did in fact won, finish it there my friend.  Let him move on.

  2. only one in nc hey scotty way to remeber us.
the trouble with scotty is so dang pretty lol

    • i like scotty mccreery a lot!  He’s a country superstar now!  a good example to teenagers…

  3. SalvX,
If Pia, Haley or James are good enough to succeed, then they’ll do it.  If not….
Scotty is a mature kid with a GREAT voice and most of AI fans believed enough to vote for him.  He won and the others didn’t. Period!  Live with it!

  4. Scotty is amazing and his success proofs America chose the right winner. He got a huge fan base and support and praise from pros.  Fans of other
idols have moved on.  Yet a few got stuck in the past. They try to belittle Scotty, but that doesn´t change Scotty´s talent or success. It only portraits the posters

  5. I hope Jermaine is not voted out, because his voice is the only one left with such a beautiful rich, deep quality.  All he needs is a little guidance and direction as to the type of song he should be singing and how to project it more on stage.  I love this “gentle giant” and would not like to see him go – not yet.

  6. I think Country is the way to go for idols…most of the success has come from that genre…i see casey james’s first album will be released on March 20th..finally.  you can preorder or sample at amazon..and americanidol has one of the singles as a new video…i think i am going to order his…show some support.  have not followed scotty…has he released an album?

  7. I dont get why he wont come to Calgary Brad Paisley and The band perry whoe he has been touring will be peforming here in Cakagry during the stampede why wont scotty join them for that I WOULD LOVE TO SEE SCOTTY LIVE

  8. Scotty is Scotty. He is a smart, talented,  grounded young man who plans to attend NCSU in the fall where he will be happy to blend in with 35,000 other students and receive no special treatment.
