Former American Idol winner Carrie Underwood and country music star Miranda Lambert are teaming up for a new duet! Miranda, who is married to The Voice coach Blake Shelton, announced the song ‘Something Bad’ will be featured on her new album, Platinum,” coming out this summer.
“Singing with Carrie Underwood is very, very intimidating,” Miranda Lambert told Yahoo. “I mean, I’ll be honest, she’s an amazing vocalist. I’m a big fan of hers. Asking her to do this was nerve-wracking.” We can’t imagine how Miranda Lambert could be intimidated by anyone, but we’re glad she got up the guts to ask Carrie to collaborate!
Although there have been tabloid rumors of a feud between the two ladies, the truth seems to be that the pair have become fast friends. Miranda even went to bat for Carrie after the former American Idol winner sparked outrage from some Sound of Music fans for daring to play Maria von Trapp in a live TV production. “Wow! The Sound of Music Live was awesome,” Miranda tweeted out to her fans. “@carrieunderwood unbelieveable!”
