The American Idol finale is almost here, and mentor Scott Borchetta is wrapping up the last details for the show with the Top 3 hopefuls. There are only a few short days left to get everything into place for the moment they’ve been waiting for all season.
The Big Machine Records founder said he doesn’t really have any plans to change his approach to the contestants for the American Idol finale.
“At this point you can say almost my work is done,” the American Idol 2015 mentor told Fox Audio Central. “You know, we have another executive run through tomorrow, and those songs are chosen. We’re going to record the coronation songs tomorrow, so I have a lot of work to do there. But yeah man, seven days from tonight we announce the next winner of American Idol.”
Borchetta feels he had something of an advantage in choosing songs for the contestants this past week because he has gotten to know them so well.
“It was really nice of the judges to be so kind to the picks that I had this week. And, you know, I probably have a little bit of an advantage with them, just because as Harry pointed out, they really don’t get to spend any time with them,” the American idol 2015 mentor told Fox Audio Central.
“So, you know, I get to know them a lot better than the judges do the way that the show is set up. But I was really happy with the way they all executed tonight. It was a big night. And Rayvon, I mean he was the comeback kid, and to make the top four, congratulations to him, and such a great guy. So it was a great show [this week].”
