American Idol Season 14 Auditions: The Best From Last Week

We’re heading into a new audition week for American Idol 2015 but before we get to the new batch of hopefuls, let’s take a look at the best from last week.

Keep in mind, however, something was a bit amiss last week. After a couple week of strong talent, last week was a little, well, weak. But let’s take a look back anyway.

Mark Andrew, “Soulshine.” One of the smoothest and most effortless voices of the week, Mark Andrew’s version of “Soulshine” wasn’t the only thing he gave us. He also broke into the song from “The Jungle Book,” which was also a great performance. He’s a natural.

Jacob Tolliver, “Whole Lotta Shakin.” OK, so maybe this guy was just doing a Jerry Lee Lewis impersonation. But I don’t care. I loved it. I thought his energy was amazing and the way he works a piano would make for great television.

Adam Lasher, “These Shoes.” Adam, I think, is one of my favorites so far. His voice is the kind of voice you just want to listen to. I wish I could say we’ll see him on the live shows, but I don’t think I can. I at least hope we get to see more of him during Hollywood Week. I like him a lot.

Mikey Duran, “My Demise.” His original song had me right from the start. I seriously felt like I was listening to the radio. I love this guy and regardless of what happens on Idol, I’ll be following him.

Quentin Alexander, “Royals.” Any time a guy covers a popular female artist on American Idol I get excited. I loved Quentin’s version of Lorde’s “Royals” so I can only imagine what else he has in store for us.

Oh, it looks like all of my favorites from last week were guys. Who were your favorites? Who has what it takes to win American Idol Season 14?
