During last night’s American Idol 2013 Baton Rouge auditions, we got to meet season 12 hopeful Charlie Askew. During the live recap I wrote, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Charlie. I’ve since decided that I really like him.
I think I was just continuing my Queen bias. I have a hard time accepting anyone singing any Queen song other than the late, great Freddie Mercury. So I let that cloud my judgement. Anyway, I listened again and I liked his audition. I think Charlie is a great guy and it’ll be nice to watch him in this competition. And according to the Top 40 spoilers, he might be around for a bit longer.
