American Idol 2014 finalist Emily Piriz wept after she was eliminated last week from the Top 12. But even through all her tears, Emily said she was happy to be on the show, no matter what happened. That doesn’t mean, however, she was expecting to go home so soon.
“I was still thinking positive when I sat on the stool,” Emily Piriz said in her American Idol ‘curtain call’ video message to her fans. “When I saw all the other people who sat in the stools, I mean, it was kind of a crazy night. My mind was all over the place. But I’m just happy to be here, no matter what happens.”
Emily said her favorite performance from the show was “Stars” during Hollywood Week. She felt like that was her big “moment” on American Idol 2014. That’s why she chose it as her save song last week. “It kind of made me a contender… The judges were cheering for me. It was an awesome moment.”
Even though her journey on the show has come to an end, Emily Piriz thanked her fans for voting for her and getting her so far. “Without you I would be nowhere,” she said. “Top 12, that is all I can ask for. This has been an amazing experience. I want to thank you so much. I love each and every one of you.”
