Love her or hate her, Kara DioGuardi, the 4th judge on the panel, is returning for American Idol 2010.
Likewise, Simon and Ryan Seacrest have been confirmed for returning in 2010 with massive paychecks. Paula Abdul’s return to American Idol remains uncertain and perhaps unlikely as her demands for a pay raise have gone unanswered. Will the Idol be the same without Paula?
American Idol will NOT be the same without Paula; and get rid of Kara.. she is a totally boring Judge ; I will have to press the MUTE button when she talks.. however, don’t know if I will be as interested in AI if Paula isn’t there.
If Kara stays and Paula leaves. I think I would have to reconsider watching this season. Kara is an idiot. Any host that would strip on the stage of Idol doesn’t belong there.

Simon is all about the shock factor and Paula is absolutely, utterly, incredibly, predictably mushy…hehe…that being said, it was quite entertaining to listen to the ridiculous things she came up with. I am glad that Paula is not coming back half the time she didn’t even know what she was saying and made absolutely no sense. I liked Kara she made things interesting. Ellen is going to be hillarious, she is a comedian after all..
I will not watch it if Paula does not return! Also, if that dumb@$$ Ellen D. is on the show, A LOT of people will quit watching! Paula was the celebrity and the main reason people even began watching the show!!!!! All the other “stars” of AI were considered nobodies as far as the public was concerned. Paula is the reason the show got where it has gotten! This is such BS! I am super pissed! Kara is a joke and shouldn’t even be on the show! She has no opinions of her own and she will never fill Paula’s shoes. I hate how she tries so hard to have that relationship with Simon…You know, the one like PAULA had! UGH! This is such a freaking disappointment! I guess they will see the mistakes they are making when their ratings rapidly fall and I’ll bet they wish they would have given Paula the money she is worth! (Which happens to be way more than Seacrest is worth!)

I liked all of the Judges, and will welcome Ellen knowing she will add too the show. I do wish though that the Judges had the decision at the finals to vote for who they feel should be the next American Idol, they are the professionals, and votes should be counted.!!!
Woops I was trying to say that the Judges votes should be taken into the final outcome, it should be like 40% American Votes, and 60% Judges vote!!!!
i am sad that paula will not be on idol anymore and i was really going to call it quits with watching idol. but when i found out that ellen degeneres was replacing her, im now curious to see what she brings to the panel. so i may tune in for another season. as for kara, at first i didnt like her and i still prefer idol without her, i really liked last year when she put that bikini girl in her place. someone had to.
BRING PAULA BACK!!! Give her the raise. She deserves it. Without her you won’t have a show because your loyal audience will stop watching. Why are you keep Kara or whatever her name is? Use her salary and give it to Paula. Duh! Kara’s song that she wrote for last season was a stinker and the same will happen to American Idol if she stays any longer.
Always have hated Paula on AI. Reason being her compliments feels more and more hypocritical by the episode! Almost like she’s sucking up to the contestants.
But whether this opinion of mine is true, i do feel that love/hate her, her character has become one of the key attributes of AI that keeps us watching. I mean like, Simon’s obviously a colossal jerk, Kara and Randy are pretty much neutral and musically technically inclined, its going to be total chaos if this kind of a balance is going to be struck with the remaining three!
We need Paula to be the mushy and overly sentimental judge to make AI complete! How much on TV is real anyways!

I really think that you guys are being unfair. You shouldn’t stop watching the show. Think of all the people that are putting the hope of their dreams into American Idol. Don’t they deserve to be viewed like the previous participators? Do it for them and their dream. Yeah Kara isn’t Paula, but it isn’t about the judges. It’s about the talent. Think about it?
I will still watch the show but feel it is a big mistake to get rid of Paula-loved the way she dressed, her opinions were genuine and loving and certainly authoritative-she is a singer and dancer after-all!! This is the first time I saw this Kara woman tonight and I have no idea what she does but I know I will never support her. She has a sickening attitude. It absolutely amazed me that someone who is already wealthy would be so immature to actually get mad at a contestant and call him arrogant. First off this aint a poplularity contest and second you gave no feedback at all about his voice. She needs to check herself before she steps out and judges someone else. I might be able to get along without Paula but Amer Idol has jumped into the toilet. I do not need for anyone to tell me what they do in their bedroom. Kara is truly lame. Paula was so much more fun and entertaining. I still watch but honestly everytime Kara speaks I cringe. Ellen is at least fun so maybe that will make up for Kara’s lame attempt at being interesting. We shall all see.

American Idol will tank this season. Why, partly because Paula is not there but mostly because Simon called it quits after this season. Let’s face it, Simon is the show, like him or not. Who can possibly replace him? Whoever they pick they will be judged against Simon and that will be hard act to follow. Honestly, Idol is losing the charm it had. From last year’s Idol I thought Lambert was a real talent but now he is just a dirtbag wanting attention. And who won last year, I don’t even remember his name. My prediction is that Idol will tank after this season and good riddance.
I liked Paula a lot and was very sad to see her go. She was a musician, dancer, singer, so i always felt like she had every right to be on the show and judge those kids. Now, that she’s gone, my only concern is this: Will Ellen De whatever be able to judge a music competition. She’s not a musician, what does she know about it? I mean, she’s a comedian – that’s great – but what business does a comedian have judging a music competition.
Kara is alright, never really heard of her before this but she’s ok. But why on earth would anyone bring on Victoria Bekham as a guest judge??? She’s a complete bimbo – she wasnt even saying anything constructive or remotely intelligent.

I see in previous comments that people are complaining about Kara and/or Victoria Beckhem being judges. Hey, guess what..? They are proper singers in their own right and can, I’m sure, viably judge a singing competition such as this; Not to mention the fact that Kara has made a name for herself in the music industry as a song writer.
But what about this Ellen D. being a judge? Eh?…you good people complain when solid validated songmeisters are nominated for American Idol Judgeship but let it slide when a no talent %#%#$ like Ellen is chosen to sit on the panel all season long? Are you kidding me?

Overall, the talent this year is mediocre to poor in comparison to past years! What a disappointment. Judges are OK. But, what on earth is going on between Kara & Simon? It looks like they are totally crazy over each other and about to lick each other’s face! Whatever you are thinking, STOP IT! Hate to tell you, but your television audience is just watching for the music contestants, not your side-show. Get over yourselves!
I AGREE! Kara just got married, and Simon is getting married. I think Kara is trying to act like paula in alot of ways.
