It all comes down to this. The American Idol Top 2 performances tonight set the stage to find out who won American Idol 2015 as the two-night Finale eliminates one more contestant and the last two Hopefuls face off one more time in Season 14. Prepare for 3 big performances and a very important Idol vote coming your way.
Despite Scott Borchetta initially mentioning we’d hear all three coronation songs tonight he later clarified to say only the Top 2 finalists will have the chance to perform on the American Idol stage tonight. That’s sad news for the season’s third place Hopeful, but I’m sure we’ll hear more from him or her soon anyway.
Both singers will perform a repeat song from earlier this season, a song selected by Idol creator Simon Fuller, and a coronation song should they win Season 14.
We’re live recapping tonight’s American Idol 2015 finale right here so stick with us for details on how to vote and what the singers perform throughout the special one-hour show.
Clark Beckham performs “Georgia On My Mind”
This is a good way for Clark to kick off the contest because that’s exactly the kind of music he should be sining. But at the same time, it was a little sleepy. But only for a bit because Clark does what he does best and that’s belt. And it was as effortless and natural as ever.

Nick Fradiani performs “Bright Lights”
I don’t know why this is the song he picked to reprise. I mean he performed it well, but it’s not a popular song. This is when you pull out all the stops and I just don’t know if this was the way to do it. But on the plus side, Nick was ON. Like he was totally amped and you can tell he did not expect to make it to the end.

Clark Beckham “Ain’t No Sunshine”
Come on Clark, can we get something upbeat? Just something? This is not how a finale episode is supposed to be. I mean we know you’re a great singer, but give us something different because this is your last chance. I, of course, have nothing bad to say about the vocals. He can sing. Yes. We know.

Nick Fradiani performs “I Won’t Give Up”
Let’s go Nick. This is how you perform a slow song. You take what could be a slow and sleepy song and you own it. This is turning into Nick’s night. I think he might just snatch this thing away from Clark. This was a great performance.

Clark Beckham performs “Champion”
Well the cheesy Idol winner anthem is back. But it does have that little hook at the beginning so maybe this will help Clark win it. But if I’m being honest, this song isn’t good. And there’s not even anything he can do with it.

Nick Fradiani performs “Beautiful Life”
Well Nick got the pimp spot and the better song. So he’s set up for a win tomorrow night. As for the song, it was better than Clark’s. It’s no “Home” by Phillip Phillips, but it definitely has more of a hook. And Nick was way more comfortable with that song than Clark was with his.
