This Sunday and Monday, the American Idol 2019 Top 20 will become the Top 14 as three people will be eliminated by the judges each night. So who goes home on American Idol? Read on to find out.
On Sunday night, 10 of the Top 20 will perform with celebrity duet partners. Here’s that line up:
- Kate Barnette with celebrity duet partners Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo
- Walker Burroughs with celebrity duet partner Jason Mraz
- Riley Thompson with celebrity duet partner Brett Young
- Uché with celebrity duet partner Shaggy
- Madison VanDenburg with celebrity duet partners Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo
- Shawn Robinson with celebrity duet partner Elle King
- Ashley Hess with celebrity duet partner Jason Mraz
- Bumbly with celebrity duet partner Shaggy
- Laci Kaye Booth with celebrity duet partner Brett Young
- Laine Hardy with celebrity duet partner Elle King
So after all the performances Sunday night, the judges have to cut three of them. And they choose to send home Kate Barnette, Shawn Robinson and Bumbly, based on the American Idol 2019 Top 14 spoilers.
Then on Monday night, they have to do it all over again. Here is the Monday night line up:
- Alyssa Raghu with celebrity duet partner Julia Michaels
- Eddie Island with celebrity duet partner Lukas Graham
- Logan Johnson with celebrity duet partner Julia Michaels
- Wade Cota with celebrity duet partners lovelytheband
- Ryan Hammond with celebrity duet partner Cynthia Erivo
- Evelyn Cormier with celebrity duet partner Chris Isaak
- Raquel Trinidad with celebrity duet partners lovelytheband
- Alejandro Aranda with celebrity duet partner Ben Harper
- Dimitrius Graham with celebrity duet partner Lukas Graham
- Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon with celebrity duet partner Cynthia Erivo
At the end of the night, the next three the judges send home are Logan Johnson, Ryan Hammond (big shocker there!) and Raquel Trinidad.
What do you think of those eliminations? I don’t find many of them shocking since we didn’t see a lot from Kate, Bumbly or Raquel, but I’m pretty shocked by Ryan’s elimination. I think he is one of the best vocalists in the competition, but I guess he lacks some of the presence and the ability to connect as strongly as some of the other guys he would be in direct competition with.
