Former American Idol season 5 finalist Chris Daughtry just couldn’t resist having a little fun at the expense of alleged crack smoking Toronto Mayor Rob Ford on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. During his appearance, Daughtry performed a hilarious tribute to the embattled mayor titled “The Ballad of Rob Ford.” We really hope he puts this as a hidden track on his next album or something because it is frakking hilarious.
On his show last night, Jimmy Kimmel said that “men like Rob Ford do not come around very often and when they do, I believe it is important that we immortalize them for future generations to enjoy.” So the talk show host decided to ask Chris Daughtry to “pay tribute to the mayor and he’s graciously agreed to do just that.” Daughtry was on the show to promote his new album, Baptized, which unfortunately does not include this awesome parody song. Take a listen below and enjoy — we hope it makes you LOL as we did.
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has admitted to smoking crack cocaine while in office and has repeatedly been witnessed in public drunk out of his wits. He has also been accused of sexual harassment of a female staff member and possibly consorting with a prostitute. Even with all this coming out in the press, however, Ford has refused to step down.
The city has done its best to persuade him to give up the ghost, including stripping Ford of many of his mayoral powers. At this point, Ford has pretty much become a huge, embarrassing joke for the citizens of Toronto and the world at large. We loved that Jimmy Kimmel gave him a proper smack in the face, Chris Daughtry style.
