Jeneve Rose Mitchell is a Top 24 semi-finalist on American Idol 2016. The Top 24 for season 15 were revealed in American Idol spoilers in December via a leaked list from The Idol Pad. This season’s Top 24 contestants are an uneven mix of guys and girls, with 13 female competitors, and only 11 male hopefuls.

The American Idol judges had certainly seen nothing like Jeneve Mitchell before she came to audition for them on the season 15 premiere! If ever there was ever a truly country girl at heart on American Idol, Jeneve Rose is it. The 15-year-old singer has been performing old school country and western music since she debuted on stage at the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering when she was just 12. She cut her first CD, Rocky Mountain Hillbilly Girl, just a year later.
According to the Durango Herald, Jeneve Rose is known for her “authentic” country style, although she also delves into old-time gospel, blues, and folk music as well. In addition to her unique and engaging vocal style, Jeneve also plays a whopping nine instruments, including the cello and the harp! Her favorite thing to do besides performing any kind of music is to train and ride her trail pack horses, according to her profile on NationalGeographic.com.
Plus, she alsoAccording to her website bio, Jeneve arranged a version of “Cool Water” for her and her dad to perform at the Western Music Association, and they ended up winning Harmony Duo of the Year. Jeneve doesn’t just give life to old country tunes, however. She’s also an accomplished songwriter herself, penning her first tune at just 11 years old.
