Trent Harmon American Idol 2016 Top 3 Performances [VIDEOS]

Going back home to Armory, Mississippi was a big deal for American Idol 2016 finalist Trent Harmon, who hasn’t gotten to see his family since he started the competition. After an emotional reunion, he dives right back into helping his folks at the family restaurant. His visit also includes a trip to his high school where he did musical theater, a tractor ride through the streets, and a special concert for his fans.

Back in Hollywood, Trent Harmon chose “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton for his first song pick of the evening. It’s a great choice for Trent and he does a fabulous job of it, once again showing why he’s a strong favorite to be the next American Idol winner. Harry Connick Jr. said Trent is so special and he loved the performance. Jennifer Lopez told Trent he is hitting his peak at the right time to make it to the finale. Keith Urban thought it was a fantastic performance and Trent really hit the bullseye.

Not sure about this song pick from mentor Scott Borchetta for Trent. It’s a little odd and it sin’t the absolute best choice for his voice. The American Idol judges don’t seem to have any problem with it, however, and it’s praise all around again for Trent.

Trent Harmon – “Drink You Away” by Justin Timberlake

The American Idol judges did a great job picking out this song for Trent, even if it isn’t one that’s really well known. The tune really featured Trent’s vocal range and gave him a chance to be truly emotive on stage. The American Idol judges are super pleased with their pick and Trent’s performance. Harry Connick Jr. even says it’s an honor to get to enjoy Trent’s amazing talent!
