Tonight On American Idol: Top 20 Sing For Your Votes (From Home!)

After a couple of weeks of American Idol 2020 clip shows and no actual new content to provide you, the sining competition show is finally back in full swing tonight!

Of course it’s going to look a little differently than we’re all used to. The Top 20 will be performing from their homes. The judges, Ryan Seacrest and a full band will also be working from home. But don’t worry, it’s not going to be a Zoom screen split into 25-30 little talking heads. American Idol producers promise that each contestant was sent the same high quality equipment to record their performances and each one will still be lead by a show director.

Let’s take a look at the official press release for tonight’s historic episode of American Idol 2020.
The stakes have never been higher as the Top 20 perform remotely for a spot in the Top 10 of “American Idol,” SUNDAY, APRIL 26 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. For the first time ever, “American Idol” reaches audiences in an all-new way, as judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, host Ryan Seacrest, in-house mentor Bobby Bones and the Top 20 contestants participate from different locations. Don’t miss the remaining Idol hopefuls as they continue their journeys remotely, filming their performances on iPhones, singing their hearts out for a chance to win America’s vote and ultimately the coveted season three crown!
