Tonight the first round of what’s usually the American Idol Top 12 will actually be the first round of Idol 2009‘s Top 13. All 13 singers will perform a selection from Michael Jackson‘s catalog and then the phone lines will blast open for some voting. Tonight’s American Idol Performance episode will run the full two hours (8pm – 10pm ET/PT), so get ready to settle in for quite a busy night.
To get things started, let’s hear who you think will have the best night tonight and be sure to take into consideration the material they have to work with. The King of Pop’s material is definitely going to work better for a few of these singers than it will for the others. I just hope no one tries an abridged version of “Thriller”!

Anoop is good, that’s why he’s there. Adam, Danny, Allison, Alexis, and Lil are the top 5, just wait and see. I like all 5 of them. I’ll have to narrow it down later. I can’t wait to see how they do tonite.

I tried for 1/2 hour to vote for
Danny and the line would not go thru. The message said technical difficulty. I also had a very hard time going thru on Michael. I also thought Lil round was great! I voted several times for Adam. He’s da bomb!!!!
I don’t know what people see in Adam. I don’t see a thing. He wears eyeliner and screeches. He could fit with the dumb emo punk genre I guess.

Hmmm…Interesting opinions here for sure. Say what you will about any of the contestants, but Adam has it all. No one tonight even came close to his performance. Could he be your next American Idol? If not, my prediction is he will be the top record seller of all the contestants this year.

im a big fan of math, but adam is a phenomenal as a rock star of american idol,alex grace i like her performance she is fucking hot & i love her.
OMG i thought Adam was awful. His voice was to high pitched. Do not see why everyone thinks he is great.

barring unforseen circumstances, adam is our next great superstar. i’m talking in the same league as elvis, the beatles, michael jackson and, well you get the picture.
Adam shines, he is hands down the best by far. He is unique and he looks like Elvis Presley! He is definitely going to be a force to reckon with.
Lil Rounds and Danny Goeke are by far the most talented, seasoned, professional and versatile of all the contestants. Everyone this year has incredible talent, but I think these two will be the ones to set the bar.
I like several Danny, Matt, Adam, Allison, Megan, Alexis, Lil and think Kris did a pretty good job too. My problem is that I think Scott is getting through on the pity vote. I don’t think it’s fair and if you shut your eyes and listen to his voice alone – he is no where near the others. I even hear Simon handling him with kid gloves. It won’t help giving this guy false hope for a record deal – that’s just cruel. I agree that Jasmine should have gone, Jorge was sweet but struggling, Anoop picking Beat it was killing me. I would say my very favorite it Danny Gokey, then Adam for entertainment. Alexis needs to tone down the attitude she oversang and was way over the top the last time. What does everyone else think of the top 36 format?
