  9. Is anyone else counting how many times Victoria Beckham has commented on and emphasized the “look” of the contestants,seemingly as a priority over their talent? Of course commercial appeal is important, but her obvious preoccupation with all that is shallow is very telling. What a no talent bimbo she is to be sitting in judgment of other people! She’s an icon for all that is wrong with the music industry today, oh and when was the last time she had a bubble gum top 40 hit for the tween audience?

  15. Victoria is an extreme disappointment. She is really not attractive whatsoever. Lets hope she brings SOMETHING to the show when it gets warmed up.

  17. I am a fan of American Idol since the very beginning, however it seems to me that there has been a decline in the level of talent. I remember the Kelly Clarkson, and the Fanny Barino days…..now that’s real talent. And what is up with getting Ellen to be a judge… what musical experience does she have…none. I have vowed if she is the replacement for Paula I will not watch this show again, and that includes a great number of friends who also feel the same way. Thumbs down for Ellen.

  21. Screw Ellen. Keep Victoria. At least she has experience in the music industry! All Ellen will do is try to talk about herself, just like she did on Dancing with the Stars. Ellen is a BAD choice for American Idol, hell she wouldn’t even inconvenience herself to be in the audition cities. How rude!!!

  22. Victoria got lucky with landing a place in Spice Girls.. They coasted around the world on the strength of their look and the fact that they had massive appeal to tweens rather than any talent.. She flopped badly when she tried to branch out on her own, the only thing that has kept her in the public eye is the fact that she landed David Beckham and that she’s sooo super skinny that photographers just can’t resist phographing the clothes horse that she is… She does have a knack for marketing herself but I think she’s lived off the back of Beckham for most of her celebrity life.. Check out her early spice girl audition tapes.. Zero talent. Her success is all a matter of very careful marketing..

  24. That woman (Not Beckam) was aweful!!! I seriously hope she never returns because I could never stomach her again. She actually laughed at people just a few seconds into their performances? She couldn’t wait until they were finished to laugh at them? The way she rolled her eyes and snickered to those beside her was incredibly rude. The way she treated the man who was irritated at being made to wait so long was inexcusable. In the end, he actually had a very good voice and showed great patience not to tell her to shut up. And anyway…who is she? I’ve never heard of her, and she certainly is no judge of voice. She gave the go ahead to guys with no talent what so ever because they were charming and flirted with her? She needs to get over herself and realize that the show is about finding people in the general public who are talented. That guy who she humiliated needs to come back and try again…without her!!!

  25. I dun like VicBeck at all. She looked awful in that dress and her voice is not “that impressive”. I dun know why so many tv shows are having her O_O

    The “kick-off” tonite was very good, this season is gonna be great.

  30. What’s with Kara? She was very rude and got quite personal with the “I don’t like you” statement. She’s as bad as Simon. I hope they both go next year.

  32. FRANKLY I ENJOYED THE SHOW LAST NIGHT…..I HEARD SOME GOOD TALENT, LIKE THE 16 YEAR GIRL WITH THE SICK GRANDMOTHER….SHE WAS AWESOME. THERE WERE A FEW OTHER POTENTIALLY GOOD ONES…BUT OF COURSE THEY DON’T SHOW ALL THE GOOD TALENT………AND THEY DO SOUND BETTER WITH MUSIC……AS FAR AS THE JUDGES, ITS ALL PART OF THE SHOW….LOVE EM HATE EM….WHO REALLY CARES…..I JUST LOVE THE OPPORTUNITIES THIS SHOW GIVES TO NEW TALENT…

  33. I am so ready for Idol to stop paying so much attention to the freaks and let us hear more of the good talent that auditions. It really isn’t entertaining to see the weirdos – we watch Idol for the music and to see the talent potential. HELLO – is anyone listening??

    @jan: I was sorry they didn’t at least start last night’s show with a positive performance. Well, just 3.5 more weeks of auditions to go!

  35. What was the name of the girl with the nice big butt but she had a horrible voice? Totally shocked that she was going to be so bad. She had a great body though… Anyone, anyone??

  36. #5 Mojorosea Guys name was Andrew Fenlon

    Just became a fb friend of Andrew Fenlon, the dude with the attitude. Loved that guy and he had a great voice. He will be back for the finale for sure. They missed an opportunity for some great further hollywood round TV by passing him up.

    Guy with Broken hands was great and only hope so far for an interesting character on AI. Most other who made it through were boring. Except for the Italian guy. I like him to.

  37. What is happening with Idol. I watched the show last night and was thoroughly disgusted with the attitude and comments from the judges. I understood they are there to judge the talent not make SARCASTIC remarks about the contestants. I found last night they were totally out of line on the comments and snears to the contestants. I have been a fan since the beginning but maybe if Idol is not able to get quality judges they should close the show instead of embarassing the contestants. I and many friends are ready to stop watching the show because of this.

  43. Kara is so rude… Its not even right that she gets to be that rude. Is there someplace where we can go and let Ameerican Idol know that as long as she is there they are really losing alot of viewers. She just toally ruins the fun. If I was Simon I would have quit too.

  44. First off.. if your going to bad mouth Ellen at least have your facts straight! She wasn’t even signed to BE on the show until after most of the audition rounds were already filmed and she does have another commitment, maybe you’ve heard of it, it’s called the Ellen Degeneres Show. So she will not be on until Hollywood week. And as for her being a judge..WAKE UP..WE VOTE FOR THE WINNER EVERY SEASON and are we in the music business? I think it will be refreshing to actually have someone who simply LISTENS to the music and has an everyday/non music industry opinion. I think she will bring humor to the panel (this is much needed) and a sense of balance to our judges.

    I am looking forward to this season, with Simon leaving– it will most likely be last one I watch.

Samantha: Rumor has it Kara was told to be more outspoken from producers at AI…rumor maybe but I think it’s all part of the show…they want a little excitement, you know, luv to hate ’em kind of thing…I think it actually gets viewers..to see what she/they will say next….but, that’s just my opinion.

  48. In tonights american idol there was some background music played but i cant remember the name of it or who it is by can anyone help me with this all the lyris i heard and know were “i i i oh i i i” would be grateful if anyone can help

    So happy to see your CAPS….. and comments. I agree with you, the show was fun, and I enjoyed the judges too. As you said, it is all a part of the show. I do think it will be not as much fun without Simon next season, I agreed with him more than anyone most of the time throughout all the seasons.

    Danielle, nice to see your comments as well, I agree with you too. I think Ellen will be fun and refreshing, and she does listen to music and has commented intelligently on many occasions on her show, so this should be good.

  51. Kara’s behavior was unprofessional, immature, embarrassing and RUDE! She owes an apology to Andrew and the viewers. I’ll give her one more chance and if she doesn’t act like a true professional, then I’ll mute her everytime. If that behavior continues with the rest of the judges then its the off button on the remote!

  52. As I watched tonight, I was horrified at the insulting and humiliating behavior of Mary Bly. The young man from Tenn. who couldn’t at first remember his first line was obviously sincere. He was a vulnerable guy and an easy target. Even Simon can summon some compassion in auditions. The video which preceded his performance, which made fun of everything he said before his audition, was even more unforgivable considering it was a premeditated decision by the producers. You’re making millions off of these folks. Common human decency is sometimes called for.

  53. I will not be watching American Idol this season if Ellen is going to be a judge. I do not agree with her life style. I have enjoyed the show for many seasons BUT NOT THIS SEASON.

  54. Per Judy….did you watch it last season? Because you know Adam Lambert is gay right? I really don’t care if Ellen is gay or not…she’s funny. And as far as Kara being a judge…and making fun of the guy that forgot his words and showing clips of him and making fun of him…..they can’t show clips of anyone w/o their approval..so, that was all planned.
    Contestants watch the show…they know how the judging goes…if they can’t take it, they shouldn’t be up there…again, just my opinion.

  62. Kris Allen totally deserved to win last year. i’m super glad he did. He is not self-centered like most celebs. super good guy not to mention super HOT and totally good sounding. his song live like we’re dying is sweet!!!!

  63. JUSTINE, YES, SIMON IS LEAVING NEXT SEASON….I ALSO HAVE TO AGREE WITH YOU…I DO LIKE THAT SONG BY KRIS ALLEN BUT SHOULD HE HAVE BEAT OUT ADAM……I DON’T THINK SOOOOO.

  66. I sure hope that this year of AI will be as good as last year.I really don’t think that there will ever be anyone as good as Adam Lambert.He has a voice one in a million.

  68. The good singers are few and far between. The only two I liked last night was John Hart and Veronica Dechausse. “Tiny Tim” tiptoeing throught the tulips was just too funny !!!
    The guy also acted like he was the greatest singer on AI. I guess that is why I like to watch some of the people make fools of themselves.Some of the people are really obnoxious and should take the cue to leave instead of arguing with the judges.
