American Idol 2018: Listen To Cade Foehner And Michael J. Woodard’s Singles

The American Idol 2108 Top 5 all recorded what would be their coronation song had they won. That means Cade Foehner and Michael J. Woodard also had songs ready to go and we’ve got them here for your listening pleasure now!

First up we’ve got Cade Foehner’s would-be winners single “Breathe Out.” It’s got a rock edge to it of course, but it’s really over-produced and full of auto-tuning and synth-y stuff that really isn’t Cade’s true style. I mean he handles the song very well in the studio, but I don’t think it would have had any kind of impact as the winners single. There is a short guitar solo, though, which any Cade winners song begged for. It’s worth a listen, though, so be sure to check it out below.

Michael J. Woodard’s single had he won American Idol is called “Come Home.” And since Michael can sing just about anything in his signature style, this song suits him. I don’t love the song, because like all of these Hollywood Records-produced Idol singles, it’s overdone and auto-tuned to death, but it’s a pretty decent song lyrically. But like Cade’s, I don’t think it would have seen the success Maddie’s “Going Going Gone” has seen on iTunes (her single currently sits at No. 3 on the iTunes charts). But it’s definitely worth listening to if you’re a Michael Woodard fan, so be sure to check it out below.

I kind of think the Idol producers knew how the votes were going to play out, at least as far as the Top 3 goes, because these two songs just aren’t quite of the same caliber. These are definitely more after-thought songs compared to the other three we heard from the American Idol Final 3. Both songs are available for download on iTunes.

Let us know what you think of the singles. Do you prefer either of these to Maddie’s, Caleb Lee Hutchinson’s or Gabby Barrett’s?
