Jennifer Lopez Cancels World Cup Performance, Breakup to Blame?

American Idol 2015 judge Jennifer Lopez has cancelled her performance at the World Cup opener in Brazil later this week. J-Lo was scheduled to perform the World Cup official song during the tournament’s opening ceremony.

According to her reps, Lopez had to cancel due to previously unforeseen “production issues.” We wonder, however, if her breakup with longtime lover Casper Smart may be to blame.

In a statement released on Sunday, Jennifer Lopez’s rep said the American Idol judge will “not be attending this year’s World Cup Opening ceremonies” to perform. No other information or specific cause was given for the cancellation.

This is quite a letdown considering that J-Lo actually recorded the official World Cup song, “We Are One (Ole Ola),” with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte. The latter two artists will apparently perform the number without Lopez.

We can’t help but speculate that J-Lo’s sudden decision not to perform in front of the whole world right now might have something to do with her much-publicized breakup with much younger boyfriend Casper Smart.

Jennifer Lopez dumped Smart as accusations surfaced in the tabloids from a transgender model claiming she had been exchanging racy texts and photos with him. Another transgender model named Xristina Marie has also come out in the press, saying that she actually got physical with Smart while he was dating Lopez.
