The night before American Idol 2016 contestant Thomas Stringfellow flew out to Hollywood, his girlfriend of a year broke up with him. So he was more than prepared to sing out some of his heartbreak during the showcase solo round. All that emotion served Thomas well, as he gave a fabulous rendition of “Story of My Life” by One Direction in front of the live audience.
Not only did he sound great, but Thomas Stringfellow looked like he was comfortable and confident on stage. When he face the American Idol judges, Harry Connick Jr. bluntly told Thomas they thought there were better singers in the competition. However, they thought he was one of those rare performers with a “special quality” worthy of making the Top 24. Somehow, we don’t think Thomas will have any trouble getting dates when he gets over his heartbreak.
