I think Adam is the BEST that has ever been on American Idol. It will be a tragedy if he doesn’t win. We all need to remember we are voting on the Best Singer to feel the role of American Idol 2009. GO ADAM!!!!!!!!!!

Based on momentum, I would have to say that Kris is going to pull off the upset. I think that Danny supporters will move to him over Adam.
I was so disapointed with Gokey leaving that it is not much of a show left for me.. I do like Adam, but the sounds of Gokey was amazing!!
Kris is a great guy, but I just don’t think he can sing!! Like Miley Cirus she can’t sing either.. I guess America is tone deaf!!

Well, Danny leaving was great, now he won’t be tied to A.I., Kris won’t win (wish he could)…so all that’s left is Adam. (As with some of the other winners he will just kinda fade away). The others won’t.

I agree that Adam will not amount to much, unless on Broadway… I do not appreciate his screeching and wish that Danny would have won. Kris is cute and current and I hope that he wins. I agree that it is actually a good thingthat Danny is not tied to AI. He will not be warped as much as the others… look at Daughtry…not molded into AI… Best of luck to Kris!!!
I think Kris is a lot more handsome than Adam. He more closely represents America than Adam. David Cook was a rocker and we don’t need two rockers winning back to back. GO KRIS!!!
I have a problem with the concept of someone moving ahead because they are improving. I mean, shouldn’t they already be on top of their game to begin with?? But, they will all have contracts, and I disagree that Adam will fade away. A great agent, and the sky’s the limit! He’s a natural star in his genre. I love Gokey. I look forward to him having a wonderful career. And, I hope Allison makes an album of standards. Kris, I just never connected with.

Adam is not attractive, but he obviously thinks that he is. David Cook is leaps and bounds better than Adam in attractiveness, talent and emotional connection.

Kris is humble, original, and more relevent to the pop world than Adam. If I can’t vote for Danny, I am voting for Kris. Anyone but Adam.
Adam is relevant as a musical theatre performer. I don’t believe that androgenous glam rock is making a comeback these days. Not with Jason Mraz, John Meyer,… on the scene.

I watch the delayed telecast here in Thailand even though I new the result from email….and all I can is America you should be ashamed of yourselves..you’ve voted out the only true singer in the show…….we are not watching American Idol anymore, it’s just become America’s next top model…..maybe and just maybe Adam is getting votes for at least trying to sing….but I think we all know why Kris is through judging on all the 5 to 10 year old fans that turned out for him on his home town….maybe it’s about time American Idol became World Idol and voting was open and not just in America……because it sure would have been a Danny/Adam final if that had been the case……….you know you have the gift Danny and you know their is life after the show…for you anyway…so chill out and let’s see the first album ASAP.
Adam has no competition now that Danny is gone. Adam is a true entertainer and is in a class all his own. He has always been way ahead of all the others. I’m surprised he hasn’t already been discovered. Kris is a o.k. singer and cute but not a better singer than Adam. He will go far all of the top singers will do very well.

So glad that Danny is gone. His singing was so labored, he certainly couldn’t sing as easily and as well as Adam. Not sure why He made it seem like such hard work and then after all that effort it really wasn’t that great. Oh well, he’s gone.

Obviously I’m an Adam fan, an older American 60+, and I have downloaded all his AI performances and the studio cuts. I will buy his CD’s and hopefully attend his shows.

Kris is very talented, plays piano, guitar, probably keyboard and bass guitar as well but I’m just not excited when he sings, I don’ look forward to his performance each week.

i still can’t get over how the guy with the nicest voice gets voted out in favor of Kris who sings averagely and is so painful to watch as he tries to hit those notes. Still I know Danny Gokey will go places. I’ve downloaded all his songs already and will wait for his next album. I know he will be famous even without the title…like Archilleta and Daughtry. Taylor Hicks had a title but where is he now?? Danny Gokey will be star and I am looking forward to buying his album here in the Philippines. I cannot for him to sing each week as he really lights up the stage with his personality. He is a true performer and has stayed true to himself. He is wellspoken and has always shown respect towards the judges. ADAM is in my opinion the winner.

I think Adam should win. I like Kris but he struggles when he sings, he is sort of mediocre for me. All he is, is a humble guy. But the world wants true talent. Don’t know what happened to American Idol Season 8. It’s as if they did not vote for true voice talent this year.

Kris is talented; he can sing, play the guitar and piano. He’s goodlooking too. Danny can sing and is ruggedly handsome to some but he isn’t in the top 2. Adam has a good voice but he screams more than he sings; if only he stops screaming and sing a really good one , I could listen. I think Kris should be the American Idol. I hope he wins. (But I prefer the former idols!)
My nephew can play the piano, guitar, drums, saxophone and can carry a tune and is cute…

I thought this was a singing contest???? Americans have failed to understand that factor. To vote out Danny Gokey was a huge mistake. Adam……well I could as well buy a cat and step on its tale every now and then, same sound. I´m so tired of his meow-voice and screaming. And vocally Kris is not as good as Danny.

I’m an avid AI fan from Singapore… Was just so so so disappointed that Danny Gokey was voted out. To me, he represented talent and fresh of breath air. He is humble, confident and has a “sexy” voice that is very pleasant to the ears. Kris is also talented but just lagging behind Danny. Adam is too theatrical and though overall he performed well, I, too, am affected by his screaming. It just spoils the whole performance. Yes, he exudes confidence but to me, his performance is forgettable and all I can remember is his screaming…

It is a tragedy that the judges pushed Adam on the public so much, to the detriment of a true talent like Danny. I am so glad he made it to 3rd place though and am sure he’ll get a deal. The finale should have been Danny and Kris. I do think, and certainly hope, that Kris pulls it out. I realized this week that Kris is so much more talented than Adam. Kris plays multiple instruments, has an amazing style and voice and never once screamed a song. He is also so humble and adorably sweet; unlike Adam’s cockiness and arrogance; who can take that for very long?

I am from South Africa and just want to say you are spoiled with the talent there. Our Idols just finished and Jason have decent talent, but I can’t wait to watch your show. I think Allison has loads of talent, and man can Adam sing, as some of you said screaming sometimes, but compared to our Idols, your worst singer is our best singer, so enjoy.
Kris is the winner. Adam is so cocky and NOT humble. He thinks he aleardy won and Kris is the Dark Horse and honestly humble. Again Adam just screams. We do not need a rocker to win. We need a more melow guy to Win, and thats Kris.

Having been a life long Elvis fan, (Yes I’m one of the mature ADAM fan), I could see something in ADAM I have not seen since Elvis..I saw it the first night during auditions..The physical resemblance is uncanny..I could also see the gigantic talent from the beginning. ADAM is the first artist I have seen to possess the charisma of Elvis..I know he does not sing like him..I’m sure he could and wish he would…I saw Elvis several times in person,went to several of his concerts..The audience was always mesmerized, just like all the great ADAM fans we have this year on AI, who see true talent..We don’t need to put any other contestant down because we all know ADAM is in a league of his own..
I think Adam will outclass Kris because of his versatility in singing. In all angle of music, Adam proven that he can performed very well with confident. I love the way Adam perform live in front of the crowd. He has the charm and a unique genre that some singer never have. So,Bro make it in the final round.

Clearly there are millions of voters out there who have completely forgotten that this is a “singing competition”. ADAM LAMBERT is in a league of his own, when you watch him perform, he is the guest artist on IDOL not a competitor his transitions from one genre to another are effortless. Any one with half a brain can see that this extraordinary young man is the clear winner. Adam is not even in the same galaxy as Elvis and shame on anyone who insults Elvis like that. If you watch Adam’s performances, he tends to look possessed and when he screeches out the high notes (and he does that too much), he sticks out his tongue like a lizard. Both Danny and Kris are natural performers and do not need the theatrics. Danny should have remained in the competition, but Kris is peaking at the right time and will continue to do exceptionally well.
All Danny fans need to back Kris now. If Adam wins, then the competition will suffer for it. Adam needs to go back to theatre and stay there.

Until yesterday I was a die-hard Danny fan. I couldn’t understand the “Adam phenomenon” at all. I was frustrated by the fact that I couldn’t see or hear what millions of others could – so, last night I downloaded 5 of his songs, 5 of Danny’s songs and Kris and Danny’s version of “Renegade”. I listened very carefully. To my surprise, I found Danny sounding a little lack- lustre…I’m not sure why? – maybe it was the recording? Kris & Danny sounded superb together – Adam sounded completely different when I listened to him without the distraction of his costume and showmanship – Shocking as it was, I actually liked his range and voice. Still a huge Danny fan, but am very pleased to have the opportunity to listen to anything I want to…including Adam.
I think it strange that the Adam haters always have to go back to his sexual preferences…That is the only thing they can find wrong with him..Who cares?? I don’t plan on sleeping with him…It is a talent contest after all…Wish some could just remember that.

As a professional singer and music teacher, I am not tonedeaf. Far from it. And Adam sings many a sour note. I think that it is funny that the judges are so blind (or they have been instructed to praise him incessantly) to Adam’s obvious faults. He was so pitchy on his last song, it was painful at times. Kris has great pitch, thank goodness. And Adam’s placement is odd; he gets really nasal when he sings in his falsetto. And honestly, I do not care what Adam’s sexual orientation is. Never have. It is a singing competition and I call them as I see them.

I wanted Danny to win it all, but in my heart of hearts, I always figured it would be Adams. I didn’t, however, think Kris would make it to the finals. It’s not that he isn’t talented enough to be in the finals because he is. I just never thought it would play out that way, but I am happy for Kris. His version of “Heartless” was amazing and I was impressed. I think he will have a great career regardless of the outcome next week. But I really believe Adam is our next American Idol and he is quite deserving.

They are both talented in their own way. The judges are quite obviously prejudiced towards Adam, and I assume it is coming from the producers’ directives. The judges are puppets and the producers pull the strings. Somehow Adam the freakshow gets high ratings. But when you pass an accident on the road, you have to stop and stare, right? All’s fair in reality TV, huh?

This year’s top 10 is truly a talented bunch that I would like to see leave their footprint on the music industry. I agree that the judges are imposing their bias of Adam. It’s not entirely fair to Adam who is talented and should win on his own merit, but they have not given him a lot of constructive critique so how can he improve? But we see the media push their biases on us all the time, so no big surprize with this show. The power comes from the voters’ informed decisions. Wish I could vote.

I really appreciate Kris’ “what you see is what you get” attitude. He is serious about his music. As far as the bore factor is concerned: If you understand what an artist is communicating then the conncetion is exciting. Personally, I do not find Kris or Adam to be boring. They both do things to communicate. Kris communicates the subject matter of his songs unapologetically and with optimism. Aries, first of all it is karaoke, not kereoke.
And second of all, when someone sings a song “karaoke” they try to sound exactly like the original artist. On the other hand, Kris makes each song that he performs unique and new by changing it up and deviating from the original style. His comfort with the chord structure of the songs obviously shines through because he DOESN’T sing karaoke.

It is absolutely stupid for you commentators to say Adam cannot sing. Why would the professionals, Paula, Simon, Randy, every time, say his vocals are amazing and he is one of the best performers they ever had on the stage? You might not like his style but it is incredulous to say he can’t sing. You sound like jealous idiots. He is humble and generous with the other artists. Did you hear Danny complain about the commercials and wanting a decision? Adam said he wanted to hear Perry sing.
As for Kris, I think he is talented and I like his guitar playing and his simple delivery. He could have a career. But he doesn’t come close to the talent and charisma of Adam. It’s like comparing a Chevy to a Royal Royce.

Most of the adverse comments about Adam Lambert have little to do with his talent.
If being gay – as some allege – is a reason not to be successful then many top artistes would never have made it.
The comments about “screaming” are ludicrous. He has an incredible vocal range and great voice control.
As I posted yesterday, whether you like him or not and whether the redial addicts manage to vote more for Kris Allen, it will not detract from the fact that he will have a great career which, I think will be international.
As for Kris Allen, I personally like his style and his interpretation of “Heartless” was excellent. He reminds me of James Taylor and I believe he will have a future but probably more domestically.
Danny Gokie vocally reminds me of Michael McDonald (ex Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan) and will do well for himself once he settles into his comfort zone and is taught more about stage presence.
When all is said and done, each of us have different tastes and that is healthy. So support your favorite but do so without the nastiness and personal comments because they make the conversation unhealthy.
Both Adam and Kris have a lot to offer and I, for one, am looking forward to the final on Tuesday. I believe that they each will sing three songs.

I am saying that Adam is the one who stands out with his unique look. That is what is important. Vocally he is not as talented as Kris, but a lot of popular singers are not good singers. They have a different look and that is what sets them apart. In 2010 we’ll all be saying “Whatever happened to that Adam Lambert?”

#233 Bis – If you go back and look at the vids of Adam Lambert on AI you will see that he has had different looks depending on the theme for that particular week.
That applies to all of the contestants – they do have a team of advisers helping them.
I agree that Adam’s style is somewhat different from the other male singers but that is not what makes him popular – it is his voice.
The history of entertainment is full of artistes who had a “different look.” These include:
Elvis
The Beatles
Cher
Elton John
Queen
Madonna
Kiss
The Rolling Stones et al, et al.
The qualities that makes top artistes stand out from others, apart from vocal talents, are phrasing and stage presentation. Most of these artistes make their fortunes from their shows and not sales of their recordings.
Adam Lambert has a terrific voice but also has a great sense of stage presentation and that will help make him stand out and have a strong future in the business.

Hello to all the bloggers today… there is way too much ADAM bashing – this is what happens when people can’t really look past the fluff and think about the TALENT and singing – Kris can sing, he is an OK singer and he has talent – he is just average in the excitement department – he does not have a great range, but an OK range – he has a cute face, but no more than many other young men – again, I think average.
Now ADAM can sing circles around the rest – his voice, range versatility – stage presence, performance, looks, etc are way above average – SUPERB!! Please look at Entertainment Weekly, MTV and the Judges, musicians, mentors and other entertainers who all endorse and love him – come on, there has to be a reason… He is GOOD. Many musicians and artists are flashy dressers and they exude the fresh, alive attitude that ADAM has – it makes us take notice. He is a PERFORMER – and tremendously TALENTED, the thing I like the most about him is his range and emotion. Someone wrote that he has the same beat in every song – are you kidding me? You think that Black and White has the same beat as Mad World? I hope music lessons are in your future.
I really think Kris and ADAM are talented musicians, and if ADAM was not in this competition, I would probably be a Kris fan, but ADAM delivers a show AND he has the most incredible talent of anyone on the AI stage….. He has already taken the world by storm – he truly is the new KING – and I think he is even better than ELVIS in the talent department.
If anyone votes or doesn’t vote for a person based on looks or sexual orientation or whether the person is married or not, this is plain crazy- keep it simple- listen to the voice & pitch, and vote for whoever is better.

Hi BUBBA- I can’t agree more – yesterday I Pointed out that a lot of people did not like the Beatles because they had long hair – then many other groups copied them. Already we had Danny try to copy ADAM – he stated that he was watching “someone” and then he tried to put more into his presentation and used a stronger voice and then did the awful scream (heard around the world) LOL. Now that was a scream- in no way did it even come close to hitting a recognizable note. ADAM hits those high notes and he uses his tongue to produce the sounds that we love…. It’s a great technique and requires practice and talent to do.

Some people are voting upwards of 1400 times, which is unfair to all contestants, it should be one vote per person. But it isn’t. So whoever votes the most will win. Kris is a talented humble young man, His vocals and guitar playing are excellent, However, ADAM is the entertainer, and the performer. To say Kris was ahead in the votes because he sat down first is ludicrous, It was done that way for the suspense, as no one had expected Kris to have a chance. I am sick and tired of all the ADAM bashing, You have a right to want your choice to win, but don’t make personal attacks. ADAM has not one time, been “cocky”, He has been humble and gracious, always thanking the band and the audience. Supporting his fellow contestants, and listening to what the judges have had to say, whether good or bad. And Kris has also shown humility. Both of these young men deserve to be where they are. All of the judges have remarked how great this years contestants have been, and that no one should be eliminated, they are that good. In a regular year Danny, Allison, and Kris would have won with ease, they are that good. But competing with ADAM, they just can’t surpass his talent. In all my years of watching American Idol, I have never seen anyone with his vocal abilities and amazing stage presence.I have had the opportunity to see many great entertainers in my lifetime, including “ELVIS”, He had the greatest stage presence I have ever seen, he didn’t just sing, he communicated with his movements, his smile,his eyes, his emotion. You didn’t just hear his songs, you felt them. ADAM has that same unique ability, He takes you to the heart of the song, the soul of the song. I am not the only person to see this, Smokey Robinson, One of thee greatest artist’s of all time gave ADAM a standing ovation, for his rendition of Smokey’s song. Simon gave ADAM a standing ovation, and the other judges have all commented on ADAM’S amazing performances. Kate Perry’s cape was something she did, I am sure ADAM didn’t know about it. As far as his sexual preference, “WHAT” has that got to do with his talent? Some of the world’s greatest performers are have been gay. Liberace was literally flaming, and put on one of the best shows I have ever seen. Everyone has different tastes, but vote and comment on that, not attacks that are either totally untrue and/or vicious in nature. To my fellow ADAM fans, one word of caution…VOTE, and VOTE, and VOTE, If ADAM gets defeated it will be our fault, I have already heard several of the opposition saying they will vote over and over again. I love what you wrote – so eloquently- and I agree with every word. I do think the phone lines will be open longer – they were last year, and David Cook’s fans voted all 4 hours. According to Simon Cowell in TV magazine, David Archuleta should have won. Simon does not want to do AI anymore because the most talented don’t always win. He knows it is a flawed system, but it is the one we have. \
We all need to vote for the entire time if we are to compete with others who will vote that many times. There should be a lot more open lines because there are only 2 contestants. Let’s hope each vote gets through.

#254 David – If we are to believe the producers of AI then it is all based on the votes. We know it is a flawed system and we have known it to be so since Season 2 when it was revealed how supporters of Ruben Studdard worked together and voted over and over again; basically blocking the phone lines.
The only way they can avoid this type of voting is to have an on-line voting system that only permits one vote per person. They do it with other on-line competitions where you are blocked from trying a second time so I don’t know why they can’t do it with AI.
I think the reason they don’t is that it sounds better for the advertisers, on whom they rely for revenue, to say 60 million or 88 million voted rather than about 15 million, which I think it would be if they had one vote per person.
It is all about the hype and lucre – $$$$$$$’s

Stanley – please try to remember – this is a singing competition. The fact that Kris can play musical instruments is not a consideration at all. My husband is guitar instructor- Kris does not play well at all. He is self taught. He shows some talent to be able to play and sing at the same time, I will grant that, but the guitar alone with him singing is easier- who did he have to keep up with? Himself….
Why wouldn’t we be able to believe the judges, I really don’t understand this comment.
Also, I pay the same for my phone if I make one or one thousand calls, so no one makes any money on me….. I don’t pay and pay…
It is interesting to look at the backgrounds of the judges on AI and realize how much they are paid.
Randy is a former performer and record producer who did a couple of tours playing bass with Journey.
Kara is a songwriter and record producer who has worked with the likes of Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, David Archuleta and – would you believe – Paula.
Paula we know is a former Lakers Cheerleader who is probably better known as a choreographer for The Jacksons, Janet Jackson and others including Duran Duran. She did have a couple of hits but is not known for her singing abilities.
Simon Cowell, whose father was a Senior Executive with EMI also produces records but really came into fame as a panelist on AI and the UK shows Pop Idol, the X Factor and Britains Got Talent. He reportedly makes $80M a year of which over half of it is from AI and associated activities in the US.
So if AI has to pay Simon Cowell close to $40M and also pay the other four (I include Ryan Seacrest) plus the bands, stage hands, sound and lighting folk, make-up artists and take care of the acts, you begin to see how much revenue they have to make from commercials, endorsements and record sales.
So, as I mentioned earlier, 88 million votes sounds much more attractive than 15 million. Therefore, I cannot see them changing the voting system so it will all come down to which supporters have the quickest fingers, stamina and parents who don;t mind paying the bills. lol

I am a Senior citizen, but very, very young at heart. Love, love, love Adam. I hope that the American people will recognize this very talented guy (reminds me of Elvis)and vote for him to be the next AI. I think it will be a shame if he is passed over. Kara has already worked with three idol finalists and I am sure she has her sights set on writing and producing songs for some of them, including Adam and Kris.
Paula probably does not have much vested interest although I bet she would like to plan some choreography for Adam …. lol.
Simon is always on the look out for talent and am sure he will be able to influence the futures of those in whom he is interested.
As for their opinions, I do believe they are genuine. Simon was interviewed recently about why he makes the comments he does and his response was that he would rather tell someone they had no chance.
That way they can get on with their lives and not waste it trying to break into an industry that is hard to penetrate even for good artistes and can be brutally cruel.
An example of the other side of SC is that after they told one kid he had no chance to make it, the kid told them he had given up his job for the opportunity to appear on AI.
Simon called his boss and got the kid his job back. He is serious about the industry that has served him well and honest in his opinions.

There have been many examples of what can happen when the vote goes wrong, Ruben Studdord, when it should have been Clay Aiken, Jordan Sparks when it should have been Melinda Doolittle, and Taylor Hicks when it should have been Chris Daugherty. Further to the above comment, Adam has shown that he is clearly a kind, gentle soul with lots of love to share. His stage presence both while performing and taking criticisms, advice, etc., and being a role model to his fellow contestants is very forthright and sweet – he is very humble and because of that, the intelligence/appeal shines through.

Based on performances to date, Adam Lambert should win but if he does not, I believe he will become a Mega Star – perhaps the best of all the American Idol contestants ever.
I like Kris as well and thought his rendition of Heartless was the best song of the Top 3 so I was not surprised to see him advance.
Danny Gokey was definitely #3 based on his two performances.
In the final they will each sing 3 songs – at least that has been the format in the past – so it all comes down to song choice and performance on the night.
Oh! and there is that other factor that no-one can predict. Which supporters can dial or text the most in 3-hours, which is how long they usually allow for the final.
For those of you who say that Adam has more experience; don’t be fooled because most of the Top 13 have been performing one way or the other since they were very young.
His role in the musical Wicked was as one of two understudies for the part of Fiyero and it was 3-4 years ago. Chris Peluso was the other and they both left the show at the same time.
I hope and expect that the final will be a good one and wish both the contestants well. If Adam performs to his standard, he should win. If he doesn’t then good luck to Kris.
I am confident Adam will have a great career both here and overseas.

Will he be the the next Chrs Daughtry….or Taylor Hicks?
So ADAM is the heavy favorite… no surprise there… and the winner if it is Kris Allen is compared to Taylor Hicks – we all know how successful he is,…not. I would not pay to go see him- Kris or Taylor for that matter.
ADAM is compared to Chris Daughtry- who is far more popular and a rocker. I would pay to go see ADAM – that would be a treat.
My point is that they both have talent in their own way, but ADAM is far more talented and the predictions from everyone, in all the entertainment magazines, talk shows, newspapers, TV guides – all talk about the incredible ADAM and that he is the “favorite” to win.

Good morning all. One deep south country boy for Adam here. I do appreciate the Kris fans who think he has improved so much. Me thinks he had a lot of room to improve. If Adam had improved that drastically they would have had to cancel the show and declare him the winner.
Let’s face it, most of the finalist are all winners but only one has the potential of being a super star whether in is the overall winner or not.
MAY is the time of year in my country that there is a tradition we call SANTACRUZAN. As part of this tradition we have candidates that vie for the title of REYNA EMPERATRIZ.
Since this is a fund-raising activity the winner is based on how big a money the candidate has produced. It does not matter whether she is beautiful or has talent or charisma… what matters is how much she has put in. But in the hearts of the people they know who is worthy of the title.
AI is a lot like that…

Brooklyn, I’ve met a lot of Adam fans on here who probably consider themselves middle of the road conservatives – like me. Some of us can look past all of that and see true talent like Adam.
As far as i’m concerned there is actually no more competition. We already know who has stood out all throughout the season.
Next week will plainly be a popularity contest. I do not see the need to waste money anymore. The producers of the show will have a handful their pockets. The best thing to do is to do is to buy the upcoming CD’s of you favorites. And that is what supporting an idol is all about. I am just being objective!

Brooklyn, the competition is not about stereotypes. It is wrong to oversimplify it like that, my friend. I am voting against Adam and I am a professional actor, singer and arts advocate who sports pink hair, tattoos, and piercings. I am pro gay rights and I am not gay.
People will vote for who they want to vote for, no matter what “camp” they gravitate towards.
I am voting for the performer that I connect with the most. It was Danny, but we cant vote for him. Kris is the better of the two choices. He is ridiculously talented, willing to take risks, and chooses good material. On the other hand, Adam is more of a Broadway performer, which I am all for, but not for this competition. His high nasal notes get on my nerves and his stage personna comes across as overly cocky. He is not genuinely connecting to his songs.
Yousee, it is not about how they dress or what their sexual orientation is; it is about their performance. And Kris is a better pop performer.

Grimlock, I do not suggest that Kris perform on Broadway because he is not a Broadway performer.
If you check the facts, Adam has performed in musical theatre in the past. He performed in a show called “The Ten Commandments” with Val Kilmer. He comes from a theatre background, thus all of his theatrics.
I would rather have an American Idol who is not so over-the-top. I like Kris’ demeanor and I think that the pop world needs someone like him. Adam will do well in roles like Joseph in JATATDC or Birdie in Bye Bye Birdie.

I would like to actually restate what I previously said about ADAM looking like a performer – I like it that he looks the way he does, I think it adds to his performance, but I would like him no matter how he dressed – it is his voice, talent, emotion and etc. that sets him apart. I just find it interesting when people attack his appearance, or call him cocky, and the rest of the bashing. LOOK AT THE TALENT, nothing else, embrace the whole person.
I am a registered nurse, working in a large hospital in Pediatrics… a part of my profession is to accept people the way they are without any prejudice. This, of course is the ideal, and everyone should be that way, but it appears that many fall short and can’t accept people who are different.
I have to agree with many points that Wendy made – only the one about ADAM not connecting to his songs, is way off… that is what most people like the most about him. He puts everything he has into his songs and sings with emotion and conviction. I am truly not trying to convince anyone to vote differently than who they relate to, just wanting to express my beliefs and in so doing occasionally I disagree with points made by others.
Glad you are with us Bubba – it was really rough earlier, I chose not to get into it at all – some of the entries were really derogatory, about Kris and Adam.

I’m glad to see so much passion here for their favorites. It’s also a great boost to music.
I’ve never heard of Gary Jules before, nor Katy Perry. But after watching Adam Lambert sing Mad World and hearing him talk about Katy, my eyes and ears are wide open. He opens up a new dimension of music to me. And I hope he will continue to shed light on little corners of the music industry to folks who mostly get their music from mainstream media like radio and TV. Adam is doing the music industry a great service by opening up doors which are normally shut to mainstream listeners. Thank you Adam, thank you Gary Jules, and thank you Katy. Wendy – Adam Lambert was an understudy singer with the Los Angeles Theater FOUR years ago and did make appearances as the slave Joshua in the 10 Commandments and also Fiyero in Wicked.
However, most of the others in the top 13 have been performing one way or the other since they were young.
Last year, Allison Iraheta won $50,000 in a talent contest plus a recording contract. She was allowed to appear in AI because she does not have a current recording contract. You can see her on U-Tube singing songs from a few years ago on a Spanish TV Station.
As we have discussed here, everyone has an opinion and we have to respect each others opinion.
To say that Adam Lambert is only good for Broadway is not how I see it. I have been in the music business, mainly as a singer, for quite a long time now both in the UK and the US and have seen some incredible artistes who never made it to the “big time” but remained good entertainers and made a decent living.
I like both Kris and Adam and believe Kris has a good future but doubt if he will hit the big time because – for now anyway – he lacks the “it” factor.
On the other hand, I believe Adam has the “it” factor – as Frank said last night the “IT” factor – and will become a mega star.
He is already receiving rave reviews from both the US and Overseas music business. I see him being successful with records and in Vegas shows, eventually as the front line artiste.
I have been to see many acts in Vegas including Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Celine Dion and Cher. Besides being great recording artistes, they are/were great show people.
Anyway, Wendy, each to his or her own. Whoever gets the most votes on Tuesday night will win AI and that has more to do with people re-dialing and texting as much as they can for their favorite.
I hope for and expect a good final between two singers with completely opposite presentations.

May we all enjoy the night indeed – it will be bittersweet for me, I will miss watching every week – I truly enjoyed many of the performances this year, but mostly I will miss having ADAM on my big screen TV with the anticipation each week of “what is he going to sing next.”
I expect to continue to see ADAM far into the future and when he is finished with AI and performs in my area, I plan to go see him – so it really isn’t over…. Even my husband, who is a very well known and well respected guitar instructor in this part of the country, said he will go see him live – (and he watches AI every week for the first time this year, because of ADAM.)
I hope he wins, but as we have all said before, he is a STAR whether he gets the AI title or not. I just hope the fans will vote their fingers off for him.

Bubba, the point that I was making is that Adam is a trained musical theatre performer, not a rock or pop performer. I am aware that most of the other finalists have had experience as well, but Allison and some others have actually had pop or rock experience, unlike Adam. His stage presence is derived from that history and thus is very theatrical. On the other hand, Kris, Danny and Allison all have not been submerged in the musical theatre genre and have a different kind of stage presence.
Adam is, by far, NOT pulling any kind of coup by any stretch of the imagination. Remember that only 1/88 of the total votes seperated Kris from Adam. Kris might have even come in first in the voting.
Kris is going to do very well on Tuesday!

Danny was the best vocalist and very original, he will have a great career entertaining us for a long time.
wendy, all 4 judges said adam was an amazing rocker, rock god,etc. which is what they are trained to listen for. and we have to listen to what all four of them said seeing we’re not trained in that field. adam has been praised by the judges in everything he has sung, not just rock.all the other contestants had a different stage presence than adam as he is above and beyond the rest. adam might have even come in first in the voting.

#377 Wendy: My first singing experiences were in a Church Choir and then a Male Voice Choir and also played the lead at my local Theater in Man of La Mancha. However, I made my money singing pop and rock songs in clubs.
Adam Lambert has a voice that transcends musical typecasting and he has proven that he can sing rock, ballads, and standards and done each with the same style and quality.
I have already written a number of times that Kris Allen sang the best song in the final 3 with Heartless and that Adam’s version of Cryin’ was not up to his standard.
Based on the two songs Adam and Kris sang, on the night, there was little to chose between them. Based on all three performances, the right two were voted into the final.
I am looking forward to an entertaining night and who wins will depend on which supporters can dominate the dialing and texting and persevere over three hours. lol

You phrased it perfectly and I totally agree with you – it is a voting contest. It really doesn’t matter how well the person sings it matters how many votes the person can get regardless of talent. Al of the little teeny boppers are “like, totally into Adam” so they just keep hitting redial and rack up the votes for him. He wears eyeliner and black nail polsih so he is “like, way cool.”
Just found this discussion and had to comment. Lots of bickering going on here! And lots of disrespectful comments about both Adam and Kris. Instead of attacking the contestants personally, I think we should agree to disagree- BOTH of them are talented. This could go either way, and I believe they both possess the potential to be successful in their own genres.
What it comes down to is that each of us has our own musical taste. Personally, I prefer Adam’s style- I like the energy and excitement in his performances. I liked Allison for that same reason. “Slow Ride” was the ultimate performance for me this season. But that’s just MY opinion.
Let’s not forget that they are BOTH talented young men who have worked very hard to get to the finals… and they BOTH are dreaming of being the next American Idol. And if we call ourselves American Idol fans, we should not be on the internet posting that contestants are boring or have no talent, and calling names like freak and lizard. Obviously the professionals saw the talent, or they would not be on the show. And the name-calling is just juvenile. Let’s be respectful.

Gwen, welcome to the real world. The judges are getting paid. They will back whomever the producers tell them to back. I am not saying that they are not experienced in their fields.
There is obviously something to be won for the producers if Adam wins.
I don’t like how the judges are representing themselves this year. They are off their game. Usually they will remain honest up until the end. But this year, they are nothing but puppets.
It is sad.
I really hope that the public sees through the games and actually looks at the quality of the two performers. And I am grateful that there is still one legitimate contemporary singer left in the competition. And he is not the one who uses every chance to stroke his own overinflated ego. American Idol has a lot of following here in the Philippines and I think Adam deserves to win because he is a better singer. Danny Gokey should have opted for a makeover, drop the glasses, change the hair cut, he has an equally interesting vocals but he looks old. There is so much more to this guy than who he’s freaking. Yet still so many ****s want to take him down. Whether it be you think he is closeted, fat, has a bad complexion, etc.
He went through hell. He was chunky, then bulimic & anorexic, on meds for his acne, was turned down for several parts, had his heart broken (no, not by me), yet continued to be OUT, pursue his dreams, and continue to have faith in himself despite all this crap. He went out to perform every freaking night he could, auditioned tirelessly, made demos, had meetings, and worked his ass off to succeed. He’d take every performance gig he could, paid or unpaid, just so he could continue to do his thing.
In between, he worked retail and never complained once – because he knew that night, he’d be up on a stage somewhere. Maybe it was a tiny stage and only 20 people would be there, but he didn’t care.
Thankfully he has an amazing family and great friends.

I work in the music industry, with lot of aspects to consider when looking for a star.
just my 2 cent.
If our company asked to select for the next artist , then it will be Adam.
Kris is not bad, consider he has lot of fans. But he has not enough talent to entertain people.
Most of the Kris’s fans, soon or later will forget about him after AI 2010 or 2011 start.
While Adam will keep exist in the entertainment industry for at least another couple years, although some americans think he can only scream.
If you recall in the last 50 years of music industry, you will find some famous star, can only scream, or not superb in singing, but they could attract more people come to watch their show 🙂
You also found some singers has a really good voices, but he/she is fade away really fast from the industry.
Most of the people all over the world, choose for Adam , but if American crowned Kris as 2009’s idol, so be it.
Although Adam lose, believe me, he will get more invitations for the show, from America, or from all over the world
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm…… i’ll still vote for adam lambert…. he deserve to have my vote and ill continue on asking for more support to him cuz he need it.
I am touched of his life in the past and his struggles to reach the top. why would i deprive this great and sincere guy?

i watched the replay of the 300th episode of american idol and kept myself glued to the tv set while adam was singing “CRYIN” by Aerosmith. Wow, so amazing vocals, im totally impressed. How can american not vote for this guy who is a sensation by itself?
Adam Lambert from ADAMLANDIA, vote for him and make him the next american idol.
My choice is Adam. He is definitely the front runner in this competition because his vocals are impeccable and he can perform so well. He is absolutely brilliant! Both contestants have worked hard to get here, but I think Adam has been the victim of way too much bad publicity based on what people perceive to be his lifestyle; although I am hard pressed to find any valid backup for any of it and either way, who really cares? I personally do not care about any of that because what I see is a kind, gentle, amazingly talented performer who can really sing. And, based on his stage presence and personal interviews, etc. I also see a man who is so humble and considerate of his fellow contestants and a role model to them as well. He has to be aware of all the negative publicity (although I think the positive publicity far outweighs the negative) he has received, and to look at him on AI, he still remains calm and cool, way cool. He has definitely risen above it. Cudos! His family sure did a bang up job of raising him. He is so true to himself, a very admirable quality.
I really hope America gets it right. I am from Canada, so unfortunately cannot vote. Please throw some extra votes in from all the international fans.

Having lived in Nashville all my life, (a long time, remember I am one of the “Mature” Adam Lovers) I have lots of friends in the Music Business..After all, Nashville is “Music City USA”..Not just country…We now have all genres represented by our many recording companies here..
I have spoken to many friends in the recording business, talent scouts, singer-songwriters and record producers, etc..They are on the look out 24-7 for someone like Adam Lambert..Someone who is unique, Someone who is “Commercial” as they say here a lot…Someone with the “IT” Factor, as Bubba,so aptly put it..
Now they see very talented people by the thousands here each year..Just like on American Idol, they have many very talented people on there, but you can count on one hand the ones that have “made it” in the music business recently..It is a very tough business to get into because of the huge number of talented people who want this very badly…
Everyone I have spoken to watch American Idol and every one of them say ADAM has that special something, head and shoulders above all others…sure they are all talented and I would not take a thing away from one of them but they are all basically the same…Only one has the “IT” factor and that is ADAM…
ADAM had this from the beginning..Every one on AI saw it from the beginning..All the Judges with their many facets in the Music Business saw it..Nobody tells the judges what to say or how to vote..That is ridiculous..Can you just see somone telling Simon Cowell what to say or how to vote?? No way!!
I have seen them come and go through the years..There was Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Cher, Celine Dion, Dolly,Tom Jones, Wayne Newton, Garth Brooks, and I could go on and on, but think of it, they all have the “IT” factor..Nothing plain and simple about them..
So all you ADAM fans will be glad to know that Nashvile – Music City USA – is behind ADAM 100%. By the way, if someone else does not want ADAM, we would be more than happy to have him here!!!I can just see the headlines now:

The idea that sacrificing to achieve one’s dream is not a new one. I know a great number of starving artists in New York and L.A. who are going through the same kinds of trials as what was described in the note from Mr. F. I have no sympathy. It is a cut-throat business and critics will always be critics. When you put yourself out there for scrutiny, you have to be prepared for the bad as well as the good. It is simply part of the business. So Adam fans, suck it up and take the truth. Adam is not all that you see in him. He is a gimmick at best.
Ron (Santa Barbara)..I, personally, having been a life long Elvis fan, would love to see ADAM do an Elvis song..You know he has the look…In fact, that is the first thing I noticed about him when he auditioned, was his uncanny resemblance to Elvis..Wish he would take off the eyeliner, nail polish, and change his hair, wear a suit and sing Elvis..You know, so many Elvis Impersonators are making a very good living…I think ADAM has far too much talent and is far too versatile for that, but do wish he would sing just one Elvis song!!
Singing Elvis sounds a little risky for a finale. Too much love for Elvis, if he were to seem too presumptuous or make a, very easily made mistake, mistake, it might backfire.
You know, you are probably right..Not a good idea for the finale…However, I still would love to see him do just one Elvis song someday..Perhaps when the Top 10 Concert comes to Memphis…Or when he becomes a big headliner in Vegas…
Is it just me or is his voice a bit reminiscent of the young Michael Jackson? No one has mentioned it but you know he had that high range, sung falseto quite a bit, etc…
I think he’s pretty much his own person, he’s unique and has a big road ahead of him to be all his fans want him to be. One thing to his advantage, he knows how hard it is and has said as much.

Have been watching the show down here in Australia and think the talent is great. I reckon Adam could become as big as Elvis. Think Kris might win though. You Yanks love “Mom’s Apple Pie” and Kris is right in the middle of that particular ball park. The picture of him with his family when he went home would be worth millions of votes. If he sounded like a frog then he wouldn’t be in the position he is in now. If someone sounds like a frog, then it is because they are singing way back in the throat. His placement is good. He is not suffering from the vocal strain of singing improperly. I am a voice teacher and know how to properly sing.

I think that some amount of reason needs to be added into this conversation and I am glad to be the one to give it. I am not insulting him as a person. He is a performer and if you were one as well, then you would understand that you have to bear a thick skin because the business is full of criticism and competition.

I pity those who “idolize” a guy whom they have never actually met. It is about skills and Adam’s skill set does not fit the needs of an American Idol. He is charismatic, etc. but is more suited for musical theatre. That is not me being mean. That is a critique of his performance.

Again, Kris’ vocal placement is good. He is not straining too much or developing nodes. Do you understand what I mean when I say nodes? His sense of pitch is good as well. He is not scooping to fix pitchiness, like Adam does.

Kris is going to win based on his talent and appeal. And if I can help others to remove the rose colored glasses and see Adam for what he really is, then so be it. Adam will have a nice career on Broadway and might possibly win a Tony. That will be a wonderful thing for him to achieve. But I do not think that he can cut it as a pop singer. Adam is a very theatrical performer. I am sure that that is a big draw to some. He makes his performances larger than life, which is also admirable. This is why he will be a captivating broadway performer. Does that make sense?
Personally I prefer a singer to win this competition who uses his talent to connect with the audience and allow us to enjoy a peak into his honest and naked soul. I don’t get that from Adam. I get that in spades from Danny and Kris. I get theatrics from Adam.

Wendy, those of us who like Adam think that he connects like not other AI has. I can’t speak for some of the past contestants that you mention but I can for Carrie Underwood. I think she’s a fabulous singer, but that’s what she does. Like most, if you watch her perform she stands there and sings – and sings beautifully.
This whole season the common thread among Adam fans is that they can’t wait until the next show to see his performance. That’s what we find entertaining about the guy. The judges have talked about wanting the contestants to be artists – not just singers. Those of us who like Adam think he’s demonstrated this like none other.
I’ve heard fans of other contestants complain about Simon so obviously pulling for Adam. I don’t think Simon would do this if he thought Adam was destined to only be successful in theater.

If Adam Lambert doesn’t win American Idol, it won’t be because he’s too theatrical. Or because it seems likely that he’s gay — though I’ll talk more about that in a moment.
I’m convinced a Lambert loss may come simply because the show wants him to win so badly, disgusted fans may react by kicking him off.
Tuesday’s show was one of the worst examples of Lambert cheerleading I’ve seen, with every judge predicting he would survive tonight’s elimination episode to compete in the finale, and at least one judge already pronouncing him the show’s winner. Lambert’s such a favorite, he’s already scored a cover on Entertainment Weekly and made headlines two weeks ago when he landed in the show’s bottom two.
Good as he is, Lambert’s performances last night were hardly a lock. Danny Gokey’s gospelized “You Are So Beautiful” and Kris Allen’s acoustic take on Kanye West’s “Heartless” were both electrifying, raising the promise of an amazing finale battle next week, no matter who lands among the final two.
Smelling the creation of a new star, the show has leaned Lambert’s way for awhile, getting rare permissions for him to sing songs by Led Zeppelin and U2 (of course, judge Simon Cowell couldn’t resist telling how singer Bono personally called so Lambert could sing “One”), and allowing him grand production gestures such as his walk down the white staircase during Rat Pack week.
Lambert may also lose just because the teen girls who fill so much of Idol’s voting ranks go for the puppy dog good looks of dark horse Allen, whose offhand manner and coolly compelling performances are a silent rebuke for judges drawn to more flamboyant contestants.
Though the only people who seem to care about Lambert’s sexuality right now are pop culture columnists and EW’s headline writers, it’s not tough to imagine teenyboppers choosing to vote for the guy who seems more like date bait.
During much of Tuesday’s show, I wound up wishing viewers could vote off the judges, who were left to kibitz with each other in increasingly distracting ways as the competitors piled up quality performances needing little criticism.
I think it’s in the final weeks that the four-judge format feels flattest — by this point in the competition, judges mostly offer flattery, so one more person on the panel adds nothing but more airtime-eating platitudes.
Even the Dial Idol Web site, which claims a 97 percent success rate in predicting ejection this season, says the contest is too close to call. But with ratings sliding this season, its easy to see why Idol needs a singular performer like Lambert to rebuild its cred as a star factory.
So we’ll see tonight if all the praise and support pays off for Lambert, or fuels a backlash that cuts his Idol dreams short.

To compare Adam Lambert with the world famous King , the one and only legendary Elvis, is such an enourmous crime that there are no words enough for it. Adam Lambert is nowhere near the talent and carisma of Elvis. And will never be. Better not forget that his tried already for ten years to success and has not made it.
He does not have carisma, no special singing talent for real.
But not to worry, if he wins, he won´t last a year, he´ll be forgotten. He´ll never be a world wide star, he just does not have what it takes for that.
Why do I wish, Dannys voters would vote for Kris? Because I dislike the way judges have given Adam special boost by giving him more freedom in presenting, showing of (walking the stairs down and so on). Ok that´s just glitter and shine, but it does take your attention away from his singing ….screeming.So thank you very much judges, for making up americas mind before them. Like so many times before. Lisa, if you’ve been following the AI show closely, you’d notice that the judges would comment very fairly and would give positive or negative feed backs as and when they see fit.
That’s the job of the judges. So what’s wrong with the judges giving Adam special boost when he actually deserves it.
True, Adam would never be the real “King”. No one could! But Adam has enough quality to be a new “King” in his own right.

Come on Brooklyn, if someone has been on stage for ten years and has not made it, something must be lacking of him. If he would be star material, someone would have discovered him ages ago. This is just a barometer of his real skills, nothing else.

I think we have a wright to say what we think as well as you do.All this, the whole thing, idols competition, is only a question of likebilities, nothing else. When I first saw Adam during his audition, I knew this young man was different from the rest. His possesses quality that I don’t see in other otherwise equally talented contestants such as Daniel and Kris. Some call this the X-factor.
In response to the comments made by some anti-Adam camps that if Adam was that good he would have been discovered earlier, I have this to say:
In the entertainment industry such as the movie and music industries, talent alone would not guarantee one’s success. Many successful and talented actors and singers today have had many years of failures, disappointment and despair before they started to see the first glimpse of light in the tunnel!
A lot depends on right timing, the right platform, right contacts and lots and lots of luck!
American Idol and American Got Talents are two platforms for talented people like Adam Lambert to launch their career. And of course he also needs a lot of luck because the same people who protested strongly against Elvis Presley for his gyration still prevail today! And these same people would continue to vote against such an unusual talent we see in Adam Lambert!
I sincerely hope that Adam would circumvent these negative viewers as successfully as Elvis did.

To those who complain about Adam’s live performances, have you ever listened to his studio recordings? The vocals are amazing- and the songs have a totally different feel without the visual, which does tend to get a little over-the top sometimes. Even Ring of Fire, which when I saw the performance, I was like… WHAT? But the recording is incredible. Like Randy said, Nine Inch Nails does country.
I thought we would see Danny and Adam in F2. And as much as I would like for Adam to have the experience of winning Idol, I think career-wise it may be better for him to come in second. Adam needs to be free to be Adam and do what he does, without being under Idol’s thumb. All he needed was the exposure, which he has now. And I thought, Danny can use the career-starting boost. But my thoughts have changed.
Kris is definitely talented, and has had some good performances. Ain’t No Sunshine was awesome. But he has not not been consistently as strong as Adam or Danny. I don’t think he should win simply based on his growth throughout the competition. And I don’t think he has the self confidence to make it in the business at this point.
Like it or not, you have to be a little full of yourself to be a star. And to those who say Adam has an overinflated ego… well, maybe the years of being made fun of growing up as a fat kid helped him grow a thick skin, and now he doesn’t care what anybody thinks about him. Self confidence is not a bad thing.
What I have seen from Adam is that he is always gracious to the judges for their comments, and the times that there have been any criticism, he takes that in, appreciates it and applies it. That impresses me.
Adam is going to be successful whether he wins or not, and I support him all the way!

Adam should be the next American Idol. Kris is sweet and has a nice voice, but cannot compare to Adam. Some people refer to Adams’s voice as “screeching”. I graduated from University with a major in voice and I can tell you without a doubt, there are thousands of people who would love to be able to “screech” like Adam. That my friends is called singing, and those high notes he hits and can hold forever takes some talent to achieve. he is gorgeous, talented, poised and gracious and has “American Idol” written all over him. I think both Adam and Kris are great and both of their albums will be platinum. However, If I had to pick someone right now it would be Adam. Do the math: total 95 mil. votes. There was approx. only 1 mil difference between top two. Lets give Kris 50 mil(being generous!), Adam 45 mil. Arkansas 38 mil having only 2,8 mil people. I’m sure not everybody voted for Kris there, but lets say they had 8 mil. votes. That lives us with over 30 mil on speed dial by computers (10.000 a minute).
Take away 30 mil from Kriss’s total 50 and he wouldn’t have more than 20 mil, which means at least two times less than Adam.
That is how was done!!!!
So please don’t look for any other reasons,than pure and simple scam!
