On Wednesday, March 27, the American Idol season 13 results shows will be cut from an hour long to just 30 minutes for the rest of the season. The show will still air at it’s new live 9PM ET time slot and tape-delayed on the West Coast.
Until the American Idol 2014 finale on May 20 and 21, the live voting results show will now feature less guest performances and only run for a half hour. Frankly, it’s a change a lot of fans have been looking forward to. Get rid of the fluff and get to the results!
This new American Idol schedule change will accommodate the new FOX comedy series, Surviving Jack, to move into the 9:30 PM time slot.
If the rumors are true, next season on American Idol 2015, the results show will be cut out entirely. Instead, the show will reportedly combine the results with the performances show much like the new Dancing With the Stars format.
What do you think about the American Idol results show being cut to a half hour and maybe even going away entirely next year. Do you think it’s a good move by FOX?
