American Idol Season 13 Results Show Cut to 30 Minutes

On Wednesday, March 27, the American Idol season 13 results shows will be cut from an hour long to just 30 minutes for the rest of the season. The show will still air at it’s new live 9PM ET time slot and tape-delayed on the West Coast.

Until the American Idol 2014 finale on May 20 and 21, the live voting results show will now feature less guest performances and only run for a half hour. Frankly, it’s a change a lot of fans have been looking forward to. Get rid of the fluff and get to the results!

This new American Idol schedule change will accommodate the new FOX comedy series, Surviving Jack, to move into the 9:30 PM time slot.

If the rumors are true, next season on American Idol 2015, the results show will be cut out entirely. Instead, the show will reportedly combine the results with the performances show much like the new Dancing With the Stars format.

What do you think about the American Idol results show being cut to a half hour and maybe even going away entirely next year. Do you think it’s a good move by FOX?

  1. thirty minutes is more than enough time to have the “lights dimmed” and have the last place contestant sing. the rest of the show is a waste of time

    • LOL oh yeah, cause the most overrated guy who never made it going home, caused american idol to go off the air?

      • Well I’ll put it this way, he got the boot and the show lost ratings big time. Last years show was awful, They treated the guys so wrong. Everyone knows they sent the best home. Truth will stand the test of time.

      • Sick of seeing jlo non stop when the contestants are performing. She is so fake and just pitiful.
