The American Idol 2014 auditions kind of went out with a bit of a whimper from Omaha on Thursday night. American Idol spoilers tell us that many of the singers we saw from Omaha will not survive Hollywood Week. Honestly, we don’t think most of them should. However, there were a few standout performances that manage to capture our attention.
The overwhelming leader in our poll for favorite American Idol season 13 audition from Omaha is 18 year old Andrina Brogden. We heard about Andrina way before the season even started as one of the audition hopefuls to keep an eye on. From YouTube videos we saw of her before the Omaha auditions aired, we were very excited about seeing her perform.
Of all the girls last night, we think Andrina was definitely one of the best. However, we don’t feel she gave the American Idol judges the ultimate performance she is capable of. We agree with Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez that this young lady will rise to the occasion in Hollywood, despite her nerves during her audition. Why? Just take a look at this example below.
The guy who has the most votes so far in our poll from last night’s Omaha auditions is 17 year old Dylan Becker. We actually think he was a bit weak and don’t think his particular style is likely to survive Hollywood Week. However, we’ll share his audition here since our readers seem to think he was the best guy.
We actually loved the audition from 23 old Tyler Marshall, although we won’t necessarily call him superstar material. However, we agreed with Harry Connick Jr. that Tyler is just entertaining and fun to listen to. We just want to watch him sing!
Our last favorite of the evening was 21 year old Casey Mcquillen, who gave the American Idol judges a emotive and captivating performance of “Skyscraper” by Demi Lovato. This is was actually our favorite vocal of the night and we really felt it when Casey was singing. We also loves that she had the normally chatty judges absolutely silent throughout.
