Tonight on NBC’s annual “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” event for the lighting of the gianormous Christmas tree you’ll get a chance to watch not one, but two former American Idol singers hit the stage. Scotty McCreery, winner of American Idol season 10, and season 8’s Brooke White will be performing on the special.
McCreery will perform during the main 8-9PM ET timeslot and White will be on stage during the pre-show (7-8PM ET). Rounding things out for Idol will be an appearance by their new American Idol 2013 judge Mariah Carey.
Scotty McCreery has a new holiday album out this year, “Christmas with Scotty,” which has recently been certified as Gold for shipping over 500,000 copies. Here’s his performance of “Santa Claus Is Back In Town” off the album.
Brooke White has her own holiday album with “White Christmas” (see what she did there?) and will be performing a cover of Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime” on tonight’s NBC special. If you miss the show, perhaps because you’re watching X Factor, then no worries because NBC will rerun the special on Friday night.
