American Idol singer Chris Daughtry always wanted to do the song “Higher Ground” by Stevie Wonder better than when he did it on the show during his season, and this was his opportunity to do it. Well, not only do we think he accomplished his goal handily, but his duet with Dalton Rapattoni on the tune was one of the most entertaining of the night!
Harry Connick Jr. told Dalton that he is “terrific” and every performance he has given has been “great.” However, he does feel the band was the real star of the song and anyone really could have sounded good with them behind them. This let into quite a little hilarious bit with host Ryan Seacrest before the American Idol judges got back to critiquing Dalton. Keith Urban said he thought the duet was really “incredible” and Jennifer Lopez called Dalton a “dark horse coming to the surface at the right time.”
No one could ever bring down this duo! @CHRIS_Daughtry and @DaltonRapattoni just R-O-C-K-E-D! #IdolDuetshttps://t.co/FaEBDfAZll
