For her American Idol Top 14 performance, Sonika Vaid took on the risky challenge of “I Surrender” by Celine Dion. Not many singers can walk in that diva’s shoes without sounding pale in comparison. Sonika may not quite be Celine yet, but she gave such a great performance that American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez had to give her a standing ovation when she was through!
J-Lo told Sonika this was the first time she’s ever gotten “goosies on her face!” Almost tongue-tied, she went on to say that “it was crazy, the way your voice sits in the music is so out of this world!” Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. also seemed to be absolutely loving on Sonika’s Top 14 performance. If this doesn’t motivate the fans to put her through to the Top 10, we don’t know what could!
