American Idol 2015 auditions kicked off on Friday in a rather unique fashion at the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar, CA. American Idol 14 is still over half a year away, and already they are throwing in the new twists!
The announcement of the historic opening to the American Idol auditions for season 14 was posted on the AmericanIdol.com website:
Some of our nation’s greatest hidden talent exists right in our own neighborhood, which is why this year American Idol is leaving no stone unturned in our efforts to find America’s next superstar!
This summer, in addition to our traditional auditions, for the very first time in Idol history, we will be conducting an audition in a new setting, the San Diego County Fair on June 13 and 14 in Del, Mar, CA.
All eligible fairgoers between the ages of 15 – 28 will have a chance to audition during those two days. There will be no prior registration, and auditions will be held from 11am – 8pm on Friday, June 13 and 10am – 8pm on Saturday, June 14. You are welcome to bring an instrument to audition with, but please be prepared to sing a capella as well.
Do you think you have what it takes to be the next American Idol? Come out and sing for us this week!
Well, that is certainly a very different way to start off the American Idol 2015 auditions! We feel kind of bad for any normal fairgoers who were just going there to have fun though, because they aren’t going to be able to park within 10 miles of the place.
