Kara DioGuardi Strikes Back At Abdul Comments
American Idol 2009’s new judge, Kara DioGuardi, didn’t take kindly to Paula Abdul’s comments yesterday that having a fourth judge, “doesn’t work.” DioGuardi expressed her disappoint over the harsh words:
“Paula has a right to her opinions, but I was disappointed by her comments, and hurt that she did not address them to me in person.”
“I am proud of my contributions to the show, and remain excited about the rest of the season.”
Paula’s rep tried to clean things up by claiming that Paula had meant other fourth Idol judges. I’m not buying it. What about you?

Paula, get over it! You’re not #1 as a judge nor is Kara (although I have to give YOU credit for not looking at yourself on camera…Kara…you love yourself…you’re turning us off). Randy is usually okay, but Simon has the final say in my books!

I love Simon and Randy, but I get tired of waiting for Paula to voice her opion. I just want to slap her on the back and say spit it out woman. I just don’t care for Kara. I can’t get use to her.

Thre one with the real talent for finding talent is Simon. Although I think he is a little hasty at times in the beginning. Like Danny Gokeys friend should have been in the 12 in my opinion.. Paula does have a hard time spitting out the words, but I love her.. She is compassionate.. The show was the best without kara…

Kara don’t fit with the show, with other judges, with …nothing. Is truth that Paula trays very hard to express her opinions in an elegant way, but in a way she is the salt and piper of the show because she is so unpredictable.

I hate to say it, but I liked the show better without Kara. I don’t know why they had to add her. Why fix it, if it isn’t broke. The show no longer runs smooth, people are cut off, time runs over, the judges arguing takes away from the contestants, Just go back the way it was. No offense Kara but you shouldn’t have been brought into this in the first place.

Kara brings a professionalism that the other judges don’t have. Paula, although a very nice person, I find (when I record the show) I fast forward through her comments, there like finger nails down a chalk board, not to mention all the same.

Kara is very professional in her role but she lacks what Paula adds to the group, kindness and empathy, which is a excellent mix with Simon and Randy. Kara does not bring anything beside being a fourth judge that is not needed.

So disappointed to think Paula may not be coming back. She gives the contestants kindness and empathy, and after Simon gets through with them, they really need it sometime.
As for Kara, she adds nothing! I say get rid of her and keep Paula. Besides, they don’t need a fourth judge. If AI dosen’t offer Paula what she wants, I think they are making a biggggggggg mistake.

I am very disappointed that Paula won’t be back,as she added to the success of the show.
Actually,I found last season for me,not as interesting with the 4th seat taken.
I know that Paula will have continuted growth in the public arena.
Mistake,with adding Kara.

anyway my best judge is Simon Cowell, he always speaks right opinion every contestant but sometimes he is rude too but I like him, anyway he is good and also Randy and Ryan, Paula to much nice to the contestant even she knows they don´t sing very well:( to be a judge they have to tell the truth so every contestant will learn their mistakes and change it to the better right folks??? my other opinion it’s too crowded to have 4 judges it´s too much for the contestants……:(:(

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT PAULA IS NOT COMING BACK…..I LOVED HER AND SIMON’S INTERACTION….KARA …WHAT CAN I SAY….KARA IS KARA AND FRANKLY A LITTLE BORING……BUT IF YOU WATCH SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE…RUMORS ARE FLYING THAT SHE MIGHT GO ON THAT SHOW AS A JUDGE…..BUT I’LL BE FRONT AND CENTER WHEN IDOL RETURNS WITH OR WITHOUT PAULA……

I live for American idol each year. It is my January doldrums fix.The show will not be the same without Paula. Simon had said that trust me, Paula WILL be here next year so I am waiting for him to take leadership and make Paulas salary competitive with others that are on the show.

Hi, I think that Kara is excellent for the show (and she can “SING” which is what it is all about) derserves to stay. Paula just needs to get over herself and realise that there are other people out there that are more capable of doing the job. If the Producers decided to pay Ryan more than Paula then she needs to take this issue up with them and not direct her unprofessionalism and insecurities towards Kara.Simon and Randy are the Bomb and they must stay too. Anyway it really does not matter who goes or stays as they say “The show must go on” Cheers to all.

Hello Phyllis,
I was soooo happy to see your name, I missed chatting with you and I still LOVE ADAM!!!! I read everything I can about him and my daughter and I are looking at tickets to see Idol live just so we can see him – waiting for a show in Connecticut where we can get decent seats.
As for Paula, I agree it won’t be the same without her – she did have more to say that I agreed with this year, but she can be so dimwitted sometimes…. I think it does add to her charm though. I have looked forward to how she looks each week, as she changes a lot – hair, makeup, clothing styles, etc. But she does need to be a little more forthcoming with the honest opinion, and not smooth coat everything.
I do love the chemistry between Simon and Paula, and I love Simon for his honesty – sometimes too much honesty, and I think he has been wrong a few times, but mostly I agree with him. Randy is funny and mostly good with comments. Kara is OK, trying too hard to come across sure of herself, and sometimes a little wacky. The show will not be quite the same without Paula, and I will miss her, but I will watch anyway. I am wondering who can come close to ADAM and how many wanabees there will be.
I hope you are enjoying your summer – and I will look for your comments and interactions in January as well.
As for Paula’s comments about the fourth judge, I think she meant it for Kara, there has to be hard feelings- and she should know by now when to keep quiet. Honestly, she must feel that she was replaced. They didn’t rush to offer her a contract and more money, so she thought, “I’ll show them, I will quit.” and they are OK with that. That is my opinion for what it is worth.
I hope to see more of our “old buddies” on this site.

I think things were going great with Simon, Randy and Paula, It was great when they added guest judges. They didn’t need apermanent 4th one. Kara just doesn’t fit in. Why wouldn’t you give a raise to Paula !!! That was like a slap in the face. Plkease bring her back AI. She brought so much warmth and tenderness that the contestants need beside the harsh critcism. Granted she had a hard time saying that they were awful, when they were, but she was just being kind. I admire that. Please don’t let Paula slip away !!!

IT WAS SO NICE TO HEAR FROM MY ADAM FANS…..I AM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SEASON….YES, I WILL DEFINITELY MISS PAULA BUT I HONESTLY LOVE THE SHOW AND ITS FANS..
UNFORTUNATELY, THE IDOL SHOW IS NOT COMING TO VEGAS THIS YEAR SO I;LL HAVE TO WAIT FOR WHEN ADAM GETS HIS OWN SHOW HERE, WHICH I;M SURE WILL BE IN THE NEAR FUTURE….. I knew when they brought in kara they were grooming her to replace Paula. 4 judges did disrupt the flow of the show. I would have bet money Paula wouldn’t be back this year. Too bad I did enjoy Paula loopy comments. She had style and grace. Karas good but I feel she can’t fill Paulas shoes. American Idol will find out they made a mistake. Maybe Simon should have given her some of his money. He certainly makes enough. Come on

Kara is boring and repetitive. Who needs her. Paula adds excitement and fun. I do not like Kara. I do not think many other people do either. What the heck is going through the heads of the executives that would allow Paula to go and keep that bland ho hum judge. Paula was correct, THERE WAS NO NEED TO HAVE 4 JUDGE. Bring Paula back!!!!!!!

As if losing Paula wasn’t bad enough, just look who’s staying, KARA the BIG mouth without a filter. Don’t know if I’ll watch the show next season, even with Ellen as a judge. Last season I stayed tuned in because of Adam Lambert,was shocked when he did’t win. The show just won’t be the same. As with so many shows, like Jon and Kate + 8, (as of Nov 2, will be changed to Kate + 8, has already lost 9 million viewers. I think American Idol will lose as well.

i feel that we the Home viewers and audience should let Kara show her abilities in judging the contestant.as we all know she is a brilliant singer and a world class songwriter.it is not all about.how long you stay in the show.it is all about how to judge/criticize contestant. and it is also the contestant’s advantage because of the well criticize they received,they now know where the problem is..so that when they are on the industry..they have the guts..to showcase their vocal abilities….and if the contestant after leaving the show became a successful
star on the Hollywood..it is the judges that makes them well prepared!
and that’s my personal opinion on this issue

but we dont like u kara or who eva ur stupid and retarded and dont kno what to do…u think u do but u jus messin up everything american idol is not goin to be the same:(( sorry eitha way no one is goin to like u bein on the show…its always goin to be PAULA…RANDY…SIMON…and no one else i love them and they will always be the best judges for american idol
