This week on American Idol 2012, the Top 9 will tackle songs by their own idols.
The theme this week is pretty vague and there will be no way to pick songs for the Top 9 so check back tomorrow with some suggestions on what kinds of songs the contestants should sing to keep themselves interesting or to shake things up.
On Wednesday night, one more contestant will fall in the bottom and be up for elimination. The judges’ save is still in play until the Top 5, but don’t expect them to use it until one of the stronger contestants land in the very bottom.
Also Wednesday, reigning American Idol champ Scotty McCreery “comes home,” as Idol would say, to perform live.

Idol refuses to post their singers’ performances on YouTube like X Factor did all season. It’d be nice, but I doubt they’ll start anytime soon.
copyright violation? since when they decided to do that? after Jessica Sanchez hit the 5 million mark on Youtube? Then why are there still AI videos running on Youtube? Why is it that other AI videos of Jessica (which have less than a million views) still exists? Can you explain that Matt? This is something that you and even those people in AI and Youtube cannot explain to convince people that it’s nothing discriminatory..

FOX and Fremantle are continuously searching YouTube and forcing takedown of copies of the show’s performances. If a version is still up there it just means they haven’t found it yet.Again, there’s no conspiracy here. Copying footage from the show and posting it to YouTube is a violation of their copyrights. YouTube has an automatic system in place to detect violations and then they’ll usually notify the copyright holder who then has to manually pursue removal of the violating material. Manual means slow and not without error.
Here’s an even easier way to explain it: teenagers are having a party at their house while the parents are out of town. 5 people come over to one party. No one notices. 6 million people come over to the other party. Think the cops will notice? Higher views means more attention which means someone at FOX/Fremantle is going to eventually notice as it gets passed around and have it removed.
Deep breath, JS fans. Again, there’s no conspiracy, just copyrights.
Don’t give me that Matt.. I know how to use Youtube.. You simply type in the name Jessica sanchez and all the AI videos of her performances will come out. That’s how simple it is.. If they were able to find the video with the 6 million mark, the others will come out as a result of the search as well.. I’m not dumb.. you’re explanation is..

You seem to understand how to type and use a search feature on YouTube, good for you, but that’s not exactly the same thing as a copyright violation.
All those videos uploaded were done by people at home who recorded them and uploaded them without permission. Sorry for your confusion.

The uploader is said to have violated certain copyright laws which is why the videos were taken down.

In away I am glad that the video has been taken down because the arguments among those who posted comments have become very nasty. I think Jessica herself will not be happy if she gets to read about the things that have been written in her name.

I’m hoping Skylar resists the urge to do Fancy by Reba. I’d fall off the furniture laughing if P2 does something by Dave Matthews. I’m guessing Hollie and JSan will do power ballads. I wish Deandre would do something reggae. Heejun, the failed kamikaze, will destroy something, but suffer no consequences. I’d love for Joshua to do Find One Hundred Ways by James Ingram, but doubt that will happen. Don’t care about the other one.

We ALL are very lucky and humble to even have the privilege to watch her sing and perform. Thank you judges for picking her to be the top 24 this year !!!!!!
ALL the songs she sang so far were superb and great. I have never heard of this song “Everybody has a dream” before, but she made me love the song last Wednesday. She has prepared herself in the last 10 years for this singing competition. For me , it is no longer a competition, she has already won the hearts of many Americans, period. Love you Jessica !!!
