Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry Return to American Idol for ‘Boot Camp’

Former American Idol season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert and season 5 alum Chris Daughtry will be returning to the show that made them famous next week. Adam and Chris will be popping up on American Idol 2014 as part of a new twist for season 13 called Randy Jackson‘s “Boot Camp.”

After the final round of Hollywood Week and before the live voting begins, the American Idol season 13 semifinalists will participate in a “Boot Camp” designed to allow viewers to “get to know the contestants before they vote for the first time,” a source told The Hollywood Reporter.

The two-day Boot Camp will also help the contestants prepare for the stress and pressure of the live rounds, where one big mistake or the wrong song choice could end up sending them home. This will replace the former “Vegas Week” round, which was reportedly not very well liked by viewers.

During the Boot Camp, former American Idol judge Randy Jackson will mentor the contestants with the help of Adam Lambert, Chris Daughtry, and possibly others as well.

The Boot Camp experience will be included as part of a special three-night American Idol 2014 extravaganza next week from Tuesday, February 18 to Thursday, February 20.

  1. Counting the days to see Adam Lambert give these contestants his wise, advice. He’s patient, kind, but constructive and honest. He’s also very liked and respected by his peers that have worked and spent time with him. I’ll be watching!

  2. two of the best who should won but are doing so much better than many of the actual winners. all we need now is jennifer hudson. what a trio that would make!! goes to prove that you don’t have to come in number one to BE number one.
