One of our early favorite American Idol contestants last year was a lovely 15-year-old girl named Emily Brooke. Her audition for the American Idol judges of “Blown Away” by Carrie Underwood was terrific and more than enough to earn her a ticket to Hollywood. Sadly, however, the talented young singer was cut right before the Top 24.
Last year, Emily Brooke battled food poisoning during group week, and it was obvious that she was struggling. She was still great through it all, in our opinion, but the American Idol judges felt she just didn’t quite yet have what it takes to make it to the final rounds.
Despite being cut, Emily Brooke remained incredibly positive about the whole experience, posting to Instagram that it was “the most amazing experience” of her life. In fact, it was so awesome that she decided to do it all over again for the final season of American Idol.
