Scotty McCreery Graduates High School

American Idol Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery had quite an eventful week. He won a CMT Award on Wednesday night and picked up his high school diploma on Thursday morning.

Scotty McCreery GraduationThe Idol champ graduated as part of the Class of 2012 at Garner High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, just like everybody else he spent the past four years with at the school.

“I’ve enjoyed these last 4 years.. wouldn’t trade any of them for the world,” Scotty Tweeted the morning of his graduation.

At the CMT Awards the night before Scotty was given the Breakthrough Video of The Year for his video “The Trouble With Girls.” And there’s even a tie-in to Garner High School in there.

“This award is special to me because I got to film this at my home high school,” Scotty said of the CMT award.

Scotty plans to attend N.C. State University in the fall.

  4. He may not have been my first choice for AI, season 10 but this kid definitely has his head on straight.  Kudos to you Mr. Scotty and good luck at NCU.  Its so nice to hear that he has his priorites in order.  Good Job!!!!

  6. Congratulations Scotty!   I remember Carrie Underwood giving Scotty advice after he won Idol, she told him to “stay humble” and I believe he has.  So happy that he is continuing his education.  What a great kid, his parents must be so very proud.
