The “American Idol” contestants head to Las Vegas this week to take on songs of The Beatles at the LOVE theater at the Mirage hotel and casino.
So we get to see another major change this season. The top 60 (or 61 — who knows what the numbers are this season) will have to see if they have more than one song in them. That means you too, Scotty McCreery.
I think the Wednesday night Vegas round is a smart move. It lets the judges see who has stage presence, potential staying power and the voice to back it before they’re put into our completely incapable hands. Good move, Nigel.
It’s been kind of hard to avoid American Idol Top 24 spoilers this time around so I’m pretty much in the know and you can be too if you want by reading our Top 24 spoilers. That being said, I’m going to still pick my Top 24 wish list (as if I’ve never read a single spoiler) and cross my fingers some of the blogs are wrong.

Ashton Jones, Jackie Wilson, Naima Adedapo, Lauren Turner, Haley Reinhart, Ashley Sullivan (for train wreck purposes), Brittany Mazur, Rachel Zevita, Sophia Shorai, Becca Boom. Opps. That’s it. That’s all I want. Just 10. I can’t pick Lauren Alaina because she’s probably going to win the whole thing anyway. I can’t recall ANYONE ever being pimped so hard this early in the game.
And like I said, according to spoilers, I know I won’t be getting my list. And I bet some of you won’t either. Especially one early favorite in particular. There’s a huge elimination. One that, according to TMZ, made Jennifer Lopez cry. Stay tuned, or read our spoilers.
Thursday night is the big reveal. Where we find out for sure what the “American Idol” 2011 Top 24 will be.

Jacee has a great voice, for the top 24. This kid has pure talent, and he good for the industry it needs some heart, to let the younger age group know you can be you and still make it to the top. Go Jacee!! Praying you make it.
@ Dan…You are right about Jacee (he needs to be out hanging with his buddies and to mature and deveklop his voice. You are also right about Robbie Rosen..I forgot about him…he does have a great voice. Have to disagree on Clint( the rude one with the glasses). I did read some comments that he was really a nice guy…but what they showed on TV ( and I am not naive enough to realize that they just wanted to add some drama)…there is something about him that I do not like, albiet, he does have a decent voice. I would definitely choose James, Casey, Jovanny, John Wayne Schultz, Carson, and/or Colton over Clint. And you are right about the girls…all we have heard are little snippets here and there…can't really decide. Ashton, Pia and Thia so far have stood out for me. Excited to see what this week brings…Whoo Hoo~!!! 🙂
Disagree with you on the Jacee this kid has voice, i think he is holding it back, but when he gets that song that is him, he going to own it. The girls Lauren, i think is her name is is very good and naturaly talented like Jacee.

Jacee isn't good enough to make the Top 24, but he'll probably make it, and America will keep voting him through despite his lack of star potential.
What ever, Jacee has sta potential, AI was just a starting point for him to let America know who he is,stay with singing Jacee, own you talent no matter what people say. They couldn't do what you are doing. They would choke!!!!

Eh. I was flip-flopping between him and Scotty. I think Casey is more talented but Scotty seems likable. I look for all sorts of things when I pick my favorites. Casey would really make the list if I pulled off Clint. I just put Clint on there to express HOW MUCH I DISLIKE him.
Clint's voice gets annoying after a while.
I can never really remember who's who until we get down to the last 10 but i do remember Scott, he's definitely in my final 12.

I hope he didn't get cut,I would be very surprised if he did. He seems to be getting overlooked here, he has been my top choice from his first audition, and I think the judges really like him too….I think we will be seeing much more of Caleb!!!

What was the name of the guy that was overcome with emotion after his song? The guy with the very deep voice (not the country western singer). That guy blew me away. I've never heard such emotion in a song. If he can keep that up he should win the whole thing.

I think Beatle night will be very interesting. Even though we know the names on the spoiler list, its still going to be fun watching this show….Can't wait for all the speculation is over and we finally have the names of the top 24 and we begin the live shows and get to see them ALL sing not just a few……..

@ Sherry K. You are right about the Beatles music being chosen for the contestants to sing..they are hard songs. I believe that James Durbin auditioned with a Beatles song (can't remember which one) and then with Steven T.'s permission) sang an Aerosmith song.

Please his action will cost him that ticket, even if he had of done it to someone else, it still showed his selfishness. Don't think anyone will be loving on that, in music industry he will be eatten up with that attitude. Believe me I in a simlar industry that attitude to step on people will get to black list very quick.Which he has done to himself. His voice isn't all that great, Robbie and the read head much better.

So many left off Stefano Langone. What a performer, while everyone else stands center stage, knees locked, he is out there performing to all. Very soulful and commands stage presence. Judge seem sot really dig him.
An American Idol is a performer, total package. Underwood, Clarksen, and even Fantasia have more than just a voice. They all have STAGE Presence. Go Stefano!!!

As far as favorites, I really like Casey Abrams, Colton Dixon and Robbie Rosen. I can almost guarantee we'll hear "Come Together" "Hey Jude" and "All You Need is Love." No matter what, I'm really excited about this episode.
Deandre Brackensick has a voice like no other. I hope (and pray!) that he makes it through and just doesn't have his name listed YET! Looking forward to seeing him.

I would really like to see Deandre Brackensick as he has a really unique voice and teen girls will swoon over his good looks.
As you can see I am a Jacee is my tops, I just have a feeling about this kid, something special about him, even if that situation wouldn't of happen, I like this kid from the start. I see an American Idol as a whole package the same as someone noted, it takes more than just a voice or working the stage to gain fans. It taks a personality. People are drawn in by that more than anything, and it gets you farther, and working with the right people. I see it every day, with those who think they have a voice and act like Clint. They have a voice but lose people on the personality. Jacee I praying for you. Wow! Us Kid. God keep his hands on you while on your journey to start your music career. You make AI worth watching. 😉

Clint is very talented, he has style and will be a great top 24 talent. Remember it was the whole group that agreed with him, he's trying to win. It takes someone who knows what they can do to get to the top, Clint knows.
yes, clint did not act only, but he acted first, trying to win, but at the cost of hurting someone else chances, when you are being voted on in the end, isn't showing smarts to gain those votes. It is sad he has stained his talent by acting the way he did, even if he did not do what he did, he was never my choice there are others with better talented and voices.
Jaycee is my #1 pick. Will he make it all the way? Who knows. Yes he is 15, does he needs a tougher skin? He has it. Has anyone else noticed the way he carries himself? Yes, he is only 15. Should he out be playing and being a 15 year old? If this young man wanted to go out and be a 15 year old, he'd be doing it! The dude wants to sing! Let him, support him!
