You’ve already heard the song, but now you’ve got the video. Adam Lambert, last season’s American Idol runner-up, has debuted his video for ‘Whataya Want from Me‘. Snark Food gives us the critique:
In the new “Whataya Want from Me” video from For Your Entertainment, Adam Lambert leaves behind the glam rock persona and the overt sexuality, instead taking a much more serious and introspective tone. The video, filmed with a gray, industrial feel, focuses the attention on Lambert’s outstanding vocals, rather than his outrageous looks – which we feel is a good move.

I saw it at 6:00a today on VH1. I love it. It shows the more sensitive and softer side of Adam and his voice is outstanding! He is truly a superstar. I love, love, love him………..

Adam definitely comes across as a softer entertainer in this video. His talent really shines. His vocals and great looks will hopefully take him far as an artist.

This is the Adam the world fell in love with. I realize he is a “prism” man, one with many colors and most artists are, but I like him best when he wears this aura.
Paula and Simon leaving will not be the downfall of idol. The downfall will be Adam Lambert. As I expect, there will be no one as original as him this year or any of the years to come. When they look back at the downfall of idol in 5 years you can point directly to Adam Lambert being the last great season. While I’m sure many will spin it as Paula leaving I disagree. I’m very excited to see Ellen as a judge. I pretty much tuned in to see what Adam would do next last year. If there are only a couple good semi original people (pink dress country girl) then I’ll probably be tuning in to see what Ellen has to say.

Hi folks, I love this guy’s talent – he’s awesome!!! Have to say I lost interest in AI after the crazy way the results turned out… Adam was way ahead of anyone else talent-wise, so I’m pleased to see this release & his CD. It kinda makes up for the previous disappointment. Adam is very unique & has a long career ahead of him, keeping us fans happy with his brilliant performances. I sure hope he does a world tour & comes to our small island…I love to see the wide appeal he has to all age brackets – that’s a sign of a true talent, IMHO. Keep rockin’ Adam!!!

This is the Adam everyone fell in love with on american idol. He shows all sides of his talent and does not have to display his sexuality to the world. So he is gay, so were other superstars which went to the top without displaying there sexuality and the world new they were gay. Great Job Adam, Hope you keep things clean and move on to superstardom.
Love it! He got good advice on toning things down. He’s still unique (that “tall” hair) and as good-looking and appealing as ever. The song is very relate-able and though I think the setting is just a tad too polished for credulity’s sake, it does frame him in a new way.

I just absolutley LOVE ADAM LAMBERT – my daughter and I got tickets to see the AI Tour when they came to Hartford, CT. We got front row seats and made a “WE LOVE ADAM” poster – he smiled at me when he was only 2 feet away – and when he saw my poster! He was/ is awesome – I feel like a teen, the way I love him. His voice is so mesmerizing, and I love his energy and performances. He is truly the best to come around in a long, long time. We took some really great photos – he sang right in front of us. Besides that, I listen to his CD constantly, can’t get enough of that man!
No one has his talent- and I do like all the sides of him that we have seen, his glam look as well as the toned down, natural ADAM. AI must love him, too to put this video here…. They will never find another ADAM and they were lucky to have given him his start to superstardom.
Adam is a great singer and an original artist, which is why this music video was a disappointment
I really enjoyed Adam and his singing. This was a tough choice last year but I do believe that this young man has incredible talent. I will share with you that I am a child of the 60’s and just love music. This video and Adam have a great chance for a wonderful career with the right manager!

They will never find another Adam Lambert! The show now lacks the thrill and excitement that Adam gave it, plus it can never produce another talent like Adam! The show looks drab without Adam performing in it!!!

Adam Lambert is the most talented artist that has ever appeared on American Idol, he is already an international start, he is iconic, has a fantastic voice, a great performer who puts a lot of emotion in his performances, and in each one of his performances he takes his audience on a fantastic journey. American Idol will never see another performer like Adam again, not for a very long time. I love his FYE CD and video, I love his Glam Rock look, I loved the AMA performance and I love the WWFM video. He is such accomplished performer that no matter how many times I hear him sing any of his songs it is as if he performing that song for the first time. Not only is he a fantstic performer but he is a very nice guy, I love him, love him love him.

Absolutely LOVE Adam. I love his talent. He’s very nice looking. But the only suggestion I would have it to at least for now, follow the queue of this video and tone it down just a little. I think once he gets more established he can branch out with his vocal talents and his looks. But don’t give it all at once.

I liked it a lot. Great idea to tone down a little for him and focus on his vocals. Not even mentioning the appearance aspect, his vocals were toned down as well allowing you to really enjoy his voice. He has a great voice and doesn’t necessarily need to push it as far as it can go to be effective.

It is so nice to hear from you and Sherry K and jodi Mueller, last year was terrific, conversing with fans and not-so-fans, and loving and defending our favorite – ADAM. I do hope there is some talent to discuss this year, but it doesn’t seem like it can ever be as exciting as last year. It will still be fun to be involved with these blogs and with each other.
As for the tour, Sarah (my daughter) and I fell into front row tickets at a great price right at the last minute – we had such fun and our seats were so close to the front of the stage- ADAM performed just a few feet from us – we have about 30 pictures and they rival some of the best we have seen on websites. Our “We love ADAM” sign was such a hit, some people borrowed it to take pictures with. Originally, we weren’t going to go to the tour because we weren’t that interested in the other contestants, but I have to say, we enjoyed the whole show. Kris Allen was laid back with no energy and although I liked him on Idol (but LOVED ADAM), I didn’t like his performance at all, it was a letdown at the end of a great, energetic show from all the other IDOLS. Then ADAM came back out – the crowd went wild every time he was on – it was amazing. Sarah and I have great memories and great photos. There were thousands of people at the concert and the vast majority were there only for ADAM! His duo with Allison was great also – they both performed magnificiently with lots of energy. ADAM is even more beautiful in person than he appears on TV. He is tall and gorgeous. I do hope he comes to this part of the country again in his own tour – You know I will be there!
Here’s to another great year of IDOL – I am going to school and working, so I may not have as much time as I had last year, but I will try to keep up with the shows and the converstions.

Again an amazing performance from an extremely talanted man.I felt his emotion – he is so beautiful in may ways. So gifted musically,handsome and sweet. I love everything he does – especially this. Your last statement about acceptance is SO true….. ADAM has amazing talent, voice, looks, charisma – the whole package. AND, this is a singing competition. I do hope this year America wakes up and votes for the most talented performer and nothing else.
As for the tour, I thought about Kris’ performance and lack of energy – and it must have been hard for him to follow ADAM after all the screams and signs and obvious love for ADAM by the fans. But, he still should have put more into his performance. The other Idols were great – much better than I expected. Maybe because it was towards the end of the tour, they had their singing and performing perfected. It was a truly great show right from the start with, of course, the exception that I already mentioned. We took lots of photos of all the IDOLS and we have some good ones with the whole crew and individually too. Kris did sing right in front of us also, so we have good photos of him, too.

Enough of the memories and the tour… I really hope we have a great year, I know I am excited about it especially because I think it will be fun with Ellen and Simon is well…..Simon – I do love him, I always said he is the best judge and he tells it like it is. With this being his last year, it should be even more fun to watch!
I think they have some interesting talent this year, so far, I have enjoyed the try-outs. The “pants on the ground man” was hilarious, and he is really an interesting person. I don’t know if everyone knows why he wrote that song, but he has good reasons; he has been a civil rights activist his whole life. Some fun stuff already.

As a 40+ female adult, I thoroughly enjoyed him on American Idol and faithfully voted for him along with a few friends and my children. After seeing him perform his disgusting debut in Hollywood, I believe it was November, I have absolutely no interest in seeing him, hearing him, or spending one penny on anything to do with him. So sorry. Beautiful voice, but he was not smart enough to rest on that. Intersted to know what the American Idol people felt about his disgracing performance?
