Tonight on American Idol 2012, one more finalist will be at risk of going home unless the judges use their about-to-expire save. If they don’t use it this week, they’ve got one more week before it’s taken out of play.
And after last night’s American Idol performances, it’s anyone’s guess who could be at risk. I’ve got my thoughts on that and you can check those out here and get in on the discussion ahead of tonight’s results.
Also tonight American Idol alumni Jennifer Hudson and James Durbin take the stage to entertain around the results and filler. I hope James and Colton meet and finally snuff out that rivalry that James seemed to create out of thin air.

There is a difference between rock and indie. Colton is more of an idie/rocker and James is hard rock. So in that respect I agree with you.
Agree….Colton probably needs to stick with Christian Rock…there is no comparison with last year’s James Durbin…he needs to stop trying. Who should be in the Bottom 3 – Colton, Joshua Hollie…who will probably be in the bottom 3- Hollie, Elise, Colton with Hollie going home. Just have not been “wowed” this year.

Too much auto tune on that video up there to the point that it’s not even him anymore. It’s all computers now days. I want to hear the actual singer not a computerized mix up like this.
I actually think new artists are picked these days based on how well the audio enhancements will fit with their voice instead of the original voice. It’s just a shame is all I can say. Must be a big let down when people attend their concerts but as far as rock concerts go you can’t really hear the singers anyway…LOL
It seems Millie Vanillie might have actually been ahead of their time. This makes what they did seem like less of a crime now.

the drummer of celine dion got fired for saying in public that her voice is fixed in the studio when recording to make it sound good but it is the studio recording that keeps a record producer in business and who among the top 7 has the most marketable studio recorded song that will keep the producer in business is quite interesting to know.

I’ve noticed a pattern over the season since Top 13 week. Eliminations have been as follows:
Top 13: Jeremy (boy)Top 12 (DQ): Jermaine (boy)Top 11: Shannon (girl)Top 10: Erika (girl)Top 9: Heejun (boy)Top 8: DeAndre (boy)Boy, boy, girl, girl, boy, boy. If this continues, I have a hunch that a girl will be going home this week. And, based on last night, that girl might be Hollie. Now, I can’t say I’m happy about this, but, This Too Shall Pass.

You see your predictions have a 50% chance of happenning, that is actually pretty good odds. The choices are either boy or girl.
Now it would be different if there are no more girls around or no more boys around . Now you have to be more precise on who goes home.
How about if you try to base your predictions on who did the best down to the worst singer last night, that might work. LOL

1. Joshua (i really want to see him pull back a little… His moves last was so good, he owned the stage)
2. Jessica (difficult yet unpopular song, but she managed to make it sound like a hit! Simply amazing)
3. Skylar (a real pro when it comes to song choices, she really knows what fits her voice and what doesn’t)
4. Elise (her voice is so natural and effortness, yet so unique)

1. Colton (there is something missing, i still couldn’t figure out his his rock star element)
2. Hollie (she is just not ready yet, sorry)
3. Philip (have not see his range as an artist probably because he kept on singing the same type of song week after week)

i agree with most of what you said here, especially the bottom 3. i just disagree with Joshua. he is over rated. he is kinda screaming not singing. ur right he needs to pull back more. my ear gets irritated with his voice with just a song. what more if i listen to his whole album or watch his concert. my ears might bleed. i cant even understand why he got the standing “O”. Jessica or Elise deserves it more. just my humble opinion.

The majority of people here have Hollie going home tonight. While I won’t be too surprised if it happens, based on her being bottom 3 lately and the idiotic judges, I hope it does not happen.
Does anyone have other guesses as to who might go home? Besides Hollie. It seems that P2 is getting called out on many forums for lacking originality. Do you guys think his fans have grown tired of him?
I understand what you’re saying. If we’re going by twitter followers, Elise has the least, but, at the same time she has two voting places: Charleston and Kinnelon, NJ. Having said that, I think that Colton has stolen Phillip’s girl vote, and people are also getting kind of mad at Joshua. So, it could be Phillip, Josh, or Hollie. Meanwhile, look at my main comment to see why i’m predicting Hollie.

I liked Colton, Skyler, and Elise, the best… I thought Joshua seemed very rushed and almost behind the beat of the song… I hated his performance.. While I think Hollie is talented she seems stiff and yes can be pitchy. She isn’t the next idol.. My pet peeve is Phillip he has no appeal, his voice isn’t that unique he has lousy style and little real personality.. So I think the bottom 3 should be Phillip, Hollie, and Joshua… They could send any one of them home and I would cheer.

My opinion is Colton doesn’t come close to James. Two different kind of singers.
The judges are very obvious about wanting Hollie to be eliminated but I do not know why. Maybe they think she would not generate as much in record sales as some of the others. I think she is a great singer and a beautiful young lady.
The judges are unfair by swaying the votes the way they want… and their remarks definately do sway the votes. They should let the voters decide who they liked on their own. I liked Randy Jackson as a judge until this year. He has been unfair and predudiced quite a bit this year so I think it is time for him to be replaced if he keeps it up… but I wonder if those in charge could be asking the judges to sway the votes? It is all about who can make them the most money, after all.
Jessica’s fan, please don’t feel complacent that she will be safe everytime~ Let’s do our part to help her, vote vote vote~

I think either Elise or Phillip should go home tonight, not Hollie. After all, only one can win, so they all have to go soon except for that one. Hollie has a better voice than Elise or Phillip. As for Phillip, he has a good stage presence and entertaining way, but not a really good voice quality. That’s my opinion… everyone has theirs. Good luck to all.

This is the bottom 3 I would LIKE to see:Phillip, Jessica & Skylar..however I think the bottom 3 WILL BE Hollie, Elise & Skylar..I think the 3 guys will be safe & that Elise will be the lowest vote getter, however she might not go home cause the judges like her..so they might save her..on the contrary if Hollie is the lowest vote getter I don’t think the judges will save her.

JesSan deserves the SO last night…….I saw Jlo was about to stand but she turned to Randy who said something to her………anyway she will be safe and Hollie would be the one eliminated, I hate to see her go, she’s also my favorite. But who knows it might be Phillip who does the same thing every week and not listen to the advise of the people who knows the ins and outs of the music industry. It’s not TALENT alone that counts…….if you want to win then you should get out of your comfort zone and prove that you have VERSATILITY……….just my opinion folks………
Agree with your comments regarding versatility.but that is my big problem with Jessica. She’s boring, bland, and predictable. She need to break out with a big rock anthem or she will always be a 16 year old choir girl to me. She needs to take some risks. Otherwise the best she will do is a Christmas album. Suggestions, queen from the past(radio ga ga would be terrific) or current some Katy Perry song. But, I am not convinced she can handle these. That’s my dilemma!

Why do I think the elimination will be Hollie, pretty much since the entire audience agreed with utter silence when Steven Tyler said it wasn’t perfect. Worse performance of the night was the trio. Sorry 3 power voices trying to shine over each other didn’t work for me at all. What happened with Elise and that crappy accent she came up with? She kept trying to add something that sounded Caribbean it seemed, not her greatest. She is right behind Hollie I think on the elimination train. Definitely enjoyed her duo with Phil, I ended up buying that song and have played it a lot today. I still can’t connect with Jessica, great voice very talented, I just can’t connect with her. Colton was really good, I think I would really like to hear him do Breaking Benjamin tho. Wasn’t knocked back by his duet with skylar because that is a huge song and while it wasn’t terrible, she is crushing on him a lot which I think may have made it awkward. Skylar definitely brought a great performance last night, I enjoyed her a lot.
Sorry but tonight last 2 standing will be Elise and Hollie, we will just see from there.
jennifer hudson and james durbin tonight..well they should be entertaining. i have caught a few of durbin’s singles and he has been doing good work. and of course jennifer has been super successful. would like to see adam lambert this year. casey james should also get a chance to plug his album.
Please please let it be Hollie that leaves! She is probably a very sweet young lady, but watching her perform is about as exciting as watching paint dry! How anyone can turn a Pink song into a sleeping pill is beyond me.

Tonight’s results from the voters shows the real problem with AI. It is a popularity contest, not a talent contest. Young tweens voting for contestants because they think they’re cute doesn’t cut it. I am very glad the judges used their save.

People are voting for the singers whom they root for. Simple. The contestants must make connection to the audience. This is not only about the biggest and best voice. Personality and emotional connection are key factors.
We need a new set of judges not a new set of idols. So what did they say to the other six?? You losers…. we just crowned jessica. Why bother to have a vote.
Do you really believe that was the bottom 3? Come on people. This is a show that gets its ratings based on drama. The judges had only 2 weeks to use their save. So, to boost ratings, they create a false bottom 3, tell the judges to use their save (like they wouldnt have anyways, lol) and the “shocker” boosts ratings so more people tune in next week to see what 2 people go home. Production people. Production at its finest.
I have to say that James Durbin looked and sounded phenominal! Way to show the contestants how it’s done.
