Last night on American Idol 2012 the remaining finalists took to the stage for another round and this time there were twice the performances. We’ve got all the performances right here for you to watch and review one more time. After you’ve seen them all be sure to vote in our Top 7 poll for who had the best night. So far we’re seeing some familiar faces in the danger zone for tonight so make sure your voice is heard as well.

First up we’ve got the “Now” performances. Each finalist selected a No. 1 hit from the Billboard during 2000 – 2012.

For the second half of the night the American Idol 2012 singers performed hits from “Then.” These songs were of a soulful nature and challenged the finalists to perform hits that weren’t as modern as the first round.

      would only agree because Skylar and Joshua did worse. I do not like Jessica’s
      song choices, nor the presentation. Great voice, but wasted on ugly sounding
      songs. Let see her do something like Whitney, Adele, Celine, etc. Maybe we can
      get a clear picture of what she can do and really sounds like. Annunciation,
      pronunciation and projection are keys to a great singer….other that
      projection, I think she just isn’t there in the other two categories.

    Overall, I did not like them last night. Get rid of Randy!

  3. i closed my eyes while listening to Joshua, he was like reincarnated by Fantasia, well, he is good, good to be ghost singer of fantasia 😛 jk, he is a great guy, i salute him, on his voice.. keep it up, joshua!

    • His singing is definitely influenced by her but remember she won the contest during her season. I like Joshua’s regular voice but not his screaming and pushing voice.

  4. Hollie is going to be safe tonight. Those performances were amazing and I think all of her fans felt that she finally showed her true colors. Watch her you tube videos from before idol- she kills. Stage fright was her only problem and I think she got the confidence she needed to cast that fear away. Yes, I love Hollie.
    I enjoyed Jessica as well, I think she is definitely safe. I don’t love everything she does, but girl’s got pipes.
    Elise didn’t do it for me last night. The first song was so raspy (which I normally dig) that it ruined the good parts for me. I think she is definitely bottom three and my best guess as to who is leaning us. We have not seen the last of her, through. She will have a career.
    PP…. I loved him in the beginning. I agree with Brandon that I would enjoy him on the radio, but I am tired of the same toothy smile, side ways stares, and awkward moments. I’m ready for him to go. Idol just isn’t his place.
    Colton was Colton. I am glad he got some criticism and he did deserve it. All in all I like him and would listen to his album. I think he has more of the female vote than P2 now & he will be around for quite a while on AI.
    Josh, oh Josh. We get it, you can sing and do interesting things with your voice. I don’t think he deserved the SO and I think last week told us that his fan base is dwindling. He is good, no doubt, but I don’t see him staying past top 5 at best.
    Just my opinions! I love this part of the show because everyone left has talent and our favorites are going to start dying off. I was entertained during the whole show, except for when randy was speaking.That Dawg just bugs me.

    • I guess Hollie will have an outstanding exit just like DeAndre and Heejun. They were pretty bad but for their last performance, they were awesome. I thought Hollie would do the same…

  5. I got this feeling that Jessica will be sent home tonight. I’m not a hater, I’m actually her new fan but I really think that it’s her time to go.

    • I also think the same. And it’s because of the poor song choice, every week i’m expecting that she’s gonna sing something that will showcase her vocal range but she just keeps on singing safe. Actually since she’s already on the brink of being sent home she’s supposed to think of a song that will really bring the house down— SHE’s SUPPOSED TO SING POWER BALLADS NOW! WAKE UP JESSICA! WAKE UP!!!

      • I don’t know. I just think that whatever she sang this week, it would definitely be her time to go.

        And I really do hope that she will get eliminated tonight. People are bashing her like crazy. People will only realize how great an artist is when he/she is gone.

      • I am a Holliepop and I think you are wrong. Though I respect your opinion, that solid performance of Jessica plus the craze her fans are into just to save her from another set of the bottom 3 will surely save Bebe Chez.

  6. I think Hollie actually won the night now that I have listened again. Phillip was great on his first performance but not so much the second one. Joshua did well on his first performance and just okay on the second one. Was it that two songs was too much for them to cram for? IDK but Hollie definitely pulled it off better than the rest.

    Jessica, Colton, Skylar and Elise had a bad night imo. Jessica had her worst night of the season.

    • really??? her 2nd song is the BEST last night. bitter tamaro. from the start you never liked Jessica. Ok goodnight to your idol Elise coz she is packing tonight…did you hear her performance? lol.

      • My idol is not Elise by a long shot. I voted for DeAndre and now my votes go to Skylar.

        I gave Jessica the chance to win me over. I listened to her performances. Last night was the worst night for her IMO.

        If you don’t like my opinion then don’t read my posts. I was fair. I even gave Skylar low grades when they were deserved. 

        What am I supposed to be bitter about. Have you ever tried Koo-laid straight out of the pack with no sugar? Now that’s bitter!

        I have figured out what has annoyed me so much this season with these contestants. There is only one true singer in this competition this year. As bad as I hate to admit it that would be Hollie Cavanagh. 

        Squealing and screeching and growling is not singing. Those are ways to cover up notes that you cannot hit. Now with that said, If the growling, screeching and squealing are well placed you can still deliver a convincing performance. There are all sorts of tricks that can be used like that. Colton does a lot of cover up in his enunciation of words. The fact that he does it a lot proves that he has a very limited vocal range. 

        Now as I have said before, the vocals are not the one and only deciding factor as to who your favorite should be. A lot of things come into the mix in making a person like your performances or not like them. 

        I am not a Jessica fan. That’s true but I am open minded and if she is still in the competition after this week she needs to do something to win me over and change my mind so I can give her a good review. It’s all up to her. 

  7. Man Randy was really trying to convince us that he is so good he can hear things that our untrained ears can’t. Hollie was amazing in both of her performances. The best cover of “Rolling In The Deep” I have heard. The only thing that bugs me is when they change the words. It’s “You had my heart inside of your hand.” NOT “You had my heart and soul in your hands.” IDK why that bugs me but it really does…LOL If it aint broke dont fix it. 

    Haley Reinhart actually kept the original lyrics but it still wasn’t as good.

    • You should check out Jessica’s version singing “Rolling in the Deep.”. I was hoping she would’ve sung that song as she killed it on YouTube.

      • I have checked it out. Love On Top is by far the best Youtube video she has. She did a great job on that. I also like her version of I’d Rather Go Blind. Like I said it bugs me when they change the lyrics to Adele’s Rolling In The Deep so that’s my least favorite of hers. 

        I think the reason it bugs me is because I am almost thinking they heard the lyrics wrong or got them from a bad source that heard them wrong. Then they get used to singing it that way and can’t change it when they find out the real lyrics. I don’t know that to be a fact. That is just my opinion. 

  8. i think that everyone that was on stage last nght has a huge talent, but Phil, josh, jess, and colton are my favvvvv. I watched them over and over last night and this morning.  phil i am 34 yrs old married with 4 kids but i am crazy in love with you!!!

  9. If Joshua, Phillip and Skylar take a trip to bottom 3 this week, I guess the AI judges should be axed out. Seriously, they were smacked by the public voters last week. When they praised a contender, that’s the one America will not vote for…

  11. They made such a fuss about Jessica’s elimination (showing her sulking on the couch in the beginning of the show) that is actually turned me off towards her.  That was like a slap in the face for all the other contestants!!

All I can say is that I am happy that all the idols stepped up to the plate.  We always compare them their performances, attitudes, personality, looks, dress, tone of voice, etc.   Please remember, Jessica Sanchez is only 16 yrs old.  She is only High School student.  She has a lot of things she needs to know in this industry.  Compring to other contestant like Hollie, closest age, 18, is not a match.  And also Joshua, 20.  I would want to see if Jessica turns 18 or 20 how she performs and then you can compare.  We all expect a lot from a high school student and I admire her for taking this risk at this age.  I admire her for that not for having a great voive.  Having a huble heart is more important than having a fake face or acting on stage.    Like I said 2 years diferrence make a lot of changes in life especially in this type of career.  Yes she a lot of experience but with that kind of thinking at that age is different when you are older.

    • Jordin Sparks. Lauren Alaina  and Allison Iraheta were also 16 on Idol, without all of this BS and drama.  Fed up with BB Chez now.

  13. Jessica is going to go home. She’s prepared anyway. Notice that she sang a new song for her “Save Song” unlike other contestants who got eliminated. 

    • The turth is, most of you White men always discriminating Aisans and you don’t like any Asian to be popular in your country that’s the reason you want Jessica to be out of the show. But you must accept the reality that nowadays Eastern personalities are conquering the globe to show their best.

    • She was not shouting at all. She’s was good. If like some of the contestants talk about him or her and stoping criticizing others. 🙁

  17. Elise=terrible. By far the worst one there and her attitude is so rude. I can’t stand her. She needs to go.

    • Much like the Blble belt Biddes from last year who called Haley Rhienhardt rude (not to mention whore, slut, pole dancer) … we are now hearing from fine judges of charector such as Avabooklyn, saying  that Elise’s “attitude is so rude” and that “you can’t stanf her”. When you talk like that, who do you think is is comming across as being more low class, rude and judgementle … Elise or yourself?

    • Go you to your home and vote for someone you like. It’s not about who’s going home, it’s about voting for the one you want to win it.

    she’s finally brought it home tonight I was totally blown away.. not only by her voice. but the passion and the determination she showed to me of how bad she wants to win this. I still think she got what it takes to be the winner. I really am. Though many people are hating her, for me, she has got the total package and America would gonna miss a lot if this girl is booted out. and ohh.. not to forget, she’s made Adele proud..and me, proud of her.

    2nd round best- Jessica Sanchez
    she’s always in her zone.. and tonight is no exception. of course she has big chance of winning this whole thing. but she needs to calm down a little bit. dig in more to her emotion and slay out what she does the best- melodic ballads.. the first time i saw her and straight away loved her was when she killed that song called ‘The Prayer’ in the green mile round. for me that’s her only moment that got me really deep.. it’s so beautiful. though I like Hollie more, I wouldn’t mind at all if she wins it…… but I really want Hollie to win. haha. nvm.

    still it’s a long way to the final. I hope all of them stay on their best and may the best singer….. WINS.

  23. Skylar was the worse by far! Joshua didnt do as good as i thought he would with them songs!  Adam Lambert & Syesha Mercado’s versions of Sam Cooke were better!

I hope Jessica n Holie n Colton will b d final 3………..so far jessica was d best in every performance, just 16 years old alrdy so talented cant amagine when she turns to 18, 20 n etc……….bside during her age that more younger alrdy perform at ‘American Got Talent” sing Surrender from celine dion totally amazing………..i wish she will win tis american idol competition……..Jessica Hwaiiting!

  30. They are all sooooo good it is hard to choose now who is better. Song choice is going to be critical now for all of them. They will go slowly and any of them could win this thing and deserve it. Jessica is really full of talent and so is Hollie. Philip and Elise are throw backs to another era but still talented. Joshua bores me.
    Skylar is way too country for me. Did I miss anyone……. they should go if I did?

  31. heh. I just laughed that Jessica is singing safe everyweek.. And I truly disagree with their opinion. Last night Jessica sang “Try a little tenderness”, and I think it wasn’t safe.. The growl was probably painful in her throat and it was amazing. She was like Haley Reinhart type this year.. And I am sure that nobody in the top 7 can do that growl in their voice.. Maybe, some don’t like growls in singing but I like I really do.. THat’s why I like Haley last year.. Soo, yeah I disagree some of the opinions here
