Last week we said goodbye to country singer Janelle Arthur on American Idol 2013.
Since then, she’s hit the interview circuit and while some of the guys chose to be less kind to their competition, Janelle had nothing but kind words for her fellow contestants left in the competition.
“This group of girls in particular are not out to get each other,” said during a conference call with reporters and bloggers. “We are really laid back. I think we were more laid back than some of the guys. I think we all really love each other…We don’t think of it as a competition.”
Upon his elimination, Lazaro Arbos stated that Idol producers’ manipulation are what lead to an all-girl Top 5 last week. There’s no way 5 guys could have left in a row,” he said. I agree with Lazaro. I’ve been saying it all season. Janelle, however, does not agree.
“It is what it is,” she said when asked about Lazaro’s remarks, “and I think that maybe the American people thought a top five female group would be just awesome because it never happened before. Maybe people were just really rooting for that.”
Well if that’s the case, America got their wish. And so did Janelle.
“I’ve been wanting a female Idol for a long time,” she said. “It’s time for a female to win.”

i think the girls are better but the amber fans which are judges needs to stop cause all 3 of the others are better i think the black juges like her cause she is black but the best one is cree she isnt my pick but she is the best singer janelle was my favoite the second best is candice but the judges will vote for who they want and with randy being colored a aferican will win but cree so d

I personally think the top 10 should have been 9 girls and 1 guy, it is no ones fault, this is all to do with talent and always should be, The girls are the most talented this year by far and anyone with an ear for music know that…
The judges have definitely been pushing and pushing for a girl to win this year, and they’re especially pushing for Amber to win! They do this every year with one contestant and that person NEVER wins. You’d think they’d figure that out. She doesn’t hold a candle to Candice!
Without question, the girls are definitely better than the guys this year…
Knew going into the show with the top 10 that the 5 girls were the best. They proved it each week!! Judges do not sway my vote, never have!
If the guys had been as good as the girls, they’d still be on the show…they weren’t and that was clear from day one.

I usually am quite surprised at how amateurish the voted off contestants sound when they perform on talk shows in the week that follows. In Janelle’s case I thought she sounded great on Kelly yesterday. Kudos girl and best of luck in your career.
