How to vote for tonight’s contestants:
Tyanna Jones performs “Why Do Fools Fall In Love”
This wasn’t how I expected it to be. It was actually better. It was fun and young and Tyanna made an old song sound current. Her vocals were also on point tonight. She’s such a great entertainer.

Clark Beckham performs “Superstition”
Clark can sing anything. He can take any song and make it a Clark Beckham hit. I know this song has been done a lot of times on this show, but Clark managed to make it sound fresh and new. I’m not surprised that Clark is moving right on through this competition.

Jax performs “Piece of My Heart”
I loved this performance. I loved the arrangement and I love that she didn’t stray too far, but definitely modernized the song just by singing it. I think this is probably my favorite Jax performance ever. Jax hasn’t always been a hit with me, but I was very impressed with this performance tonight.

Nick Fradiani performs “American Girl”
This was a smart performance. Older fans will remember the song and younger funs will discover it. I mean it has the words “American Girl” in it. A LOT of people watching American Idol can relate. And the performance itself was great. Nick’s vocals were solid and he was very hat home on the stage. Great performance.

Quentin Alexander performs “Are You Gonna Go My Way”
So this is an American classic? Hmm. OK. Anyway, I still can’t believe he’s again not in the bottom two. America is definitely seeing something I don’t. This performance wasn’t that bad, but it wasn’t anything spectacular. Like seriously, his vocals are just OK. I don’t get the appeal. Do you?

So this means the bottom two are Joey Cook and Rayvon Owen.
Joey Cook performs “My Funny Valentine”
At least it was established tonight that Joey isn’t JUST quirky with a Q. She’s also arrogant with an A. Did you see that bit with Scott? Anyway, about the performance. It was decent. I mean she can’t ever just sing, but at least this time it was more sweet than it was weird.

Rayvon Owen performs “Long Train Runnin”
I don’t think this was the best song choice for him when he’s singing for his life, but I thought the performance was great. He OWNED the stage. He looked great, he moved great and he sounded great. I really liked this one and I think he deserves the Save.
How to vote for Rayvon:

ROUND 2
Clark Beckham performs “Moon River”
Yes. This is THE song of Clark. This is the kind of song Clark was born to sing. I mean it could be called boring, but this theme is boring. As for the perforce and the vocal, it was great. Clark is great. Just keep voting fro Clark.
How to vote for Clark:

Tyanna Jones performs “Proud Mary”
Tyanna handled this one even better than I thought also. I thought it would be solid, but it was actually really great. She started it nice and low like Tina Turner but then broke it down. It was fun and energetic and just good.
How to vote for Tyanna:
- Text: 5 to 21523
- Call: 1-866-IDOLS-05
Nick Fradiani performs “Only The Good Die Young”
Billy Joel songs can come off really cheesy if they are performed by anyone other than Billy, but Nick managed to make this song actually strong. I think he had a few weak moments, but he’s definitely showing up to win now. That was a pretty solid performance.
How to vote for Nick:
- Text: 6 to 21523
- Call: 1-866-IDOLS-06
Quentin Alexander performs “The Sound of Silence”
This was an interesting song choice for Quentin, but I actually really liked it. I mean his pitch was atrocious as always, but I liked the version of the song and the emption he put into it.
How to vote for Quentin:
- Text: 11 to 21523
- Call: 1-866-IDOLS-11
Jax performs “Beat It”
Wel I don’t know about this song choice. It’s not Michael Jackson’s most vocal song, but OK, America. I guess I liked the energy and the hard-rock spin she put on it. Not bad. Just not something I want to listen to again.
How to vote for Jax:
- Text: 7 to 21523
- Call: 1-866-IDOLS-07
Rayvon Owen performs “Always On My Mind”
WHY did Rayvon pick these two songs? Like this is a good song but why is he singing it? This could really seal his fate. I mean the performance was great. The vocals were great and Rayvon was sweet and tender. But will anyone save him with this song?
How to vote for Rayvon:
- Text: 2 to 21523
- Call: 1-866-IDOLS-02
Joey Cook performs “Somebody To Love”
Ugh. What was this arrangement? This song should never ever be performed like this. Like I’m actually offended by this performance. That’s all I’m even going to say.
How to vote for Joey
- Text: 10 to 21523
- Call: 1-866-IDOLS-10
The Idol fan save goes to Rayvon Owen. Joey Cook has been eliminated.
