Kiara Lanier was one of the standout performances from the American Idol auditions in Chicago for Season 12. The 21-year old student from that same town impressed the judges with both her presentation and performance of “The Prayer.” So much so that it earned her a ticket on to Hollywood.
All the judges were stunned and left with only “wow” in their vocabulary when she finished. Keith Urban said she came looking ready to be a star. Nicki Minaj praised her control. Mariah complimented Kiara on her beauty. It was a full sweep of “yes” votes from the judges’ panel as Kiara heads on to the next round.
