From tens of thousands of hopefuls back at the beginning of American Idol season 13, the final Top 5 remaining contestants have come a very long way indeed. From their first auditions, through the grueling grind of Hollywood, on through the semi-finals, and now to the final five, it’s been an incredible journey.
For Caleb Johnson, Jena Irene Ascuitto, Alex Preston, Jessica Meuse, and Sam Woolf, making it this far on American Idol has already been a dream come true. All of them hope that dream will keep right on going until they find themselves in the American Idol 2014 finale less than a month away.
Jena Irene Ascuitto, considered one of the strong favorites to make the finale this year, says it has “been stressful but then I look around at all the talent that’s here and all the people that are left, and they really just all deserve to be here.”
“I went into the show not really thinking I would go far because my style’s so weird and different and like unique, I guess,” Alex Preston says in the latest American Idol promo video. “But everyone’s been digging it, so I’m just going to keep being me.”
Check out what the rest of the American Idol 2014 Top 5 have to say about the road to the finale so far in the video below!
So much more interesting and talented than last season.
I would expect more intense performances starting next week…! We are looking for a perfect performance ( song choice, musicality, attitude, edge, personality, voice clarity, rhythm and dynamics). This will really be an intensifying performances! I really can’t wait for next week!!
My favorite is elminated but i still think it’s better than last season. I love Kree and Janelle but it wasn’t a true competition because they probably eliminated some really good male singers that could have given Candace and Kree competition.
When Jena makes it to the finale, I hope she gets to duet with Hayley Williams rather than Lana Del Rey, it would be SO exciting. Also, I hope in the next few weeks she gets the chance to sing “Bottom of the River” by Delta Rae, because that would be her biggest moment of the season!
Lana Del Rey yes!
Bottom of the river is a great song for Jena. I hope she performs this song.
