Tonight on the American Idol results show viewers will find out who are the eight singers moving on to this season’s Top 8 when one more performer is eliminated from the competition.
In a new move for the American Idol schedule, the show will again be live at 9PM ET tonight, but instead of an hour long fluff fest the show will run for just thirty minutes. Awesome! We’ll still get the guest performances and all the results revealed, but there won’t be all the excess material in there anymore. It’s been years since American Idol had a thirty minute results show and it’s about time they tried it again.
As we mentioned, Janelle MonĂ¡e will be on tonight’s show with a performance of “What Is Love” so I’m sure the kiddos will be all worked up to hear her new song from the upcoming Rio 2 movie.
There’s still time to vote in our poll for the best Top 9 performance from last night’s show so be sure to support your favorite this season.
Join us tonight during the show for our live recap and to discuss the performances with other fans in our Idol chat room!

I’m confused by your opening sentence. “Who are the seven singers moving on to this season’s Top 8”? Does that infer that one singer is already confirmed?
Or am I just really fuzzy this morning?
Just a typo from typing faster than I was thinking.
