The American Idol Top 5 were revealed on stage last night when we said goodbye to Tristan McIntosh while also saying hello to standout Idol star Adam Lambert who returned for several performances.
Along with Lambert, who debuted his new single “Welcome to the Show,” we heard from Empire’s Jussie Smollett and Bryshere Gray as they performed amid the Top 5’s delivery of “America’s Choice.” These songs were picked by the viewers and might not always have been the right match, but overall gave us a very entertaining show.
Get ready for just a few more rounds of American Idol 2016 as the Top 5 singers, including Dalton Rapattoni, La’Porshae Renae, MacKenzie Bourg, Sonika Vaid, and Trent Harmon, will all return next week with hopes of moving on in the final stages of the season.
Look back at last night’s performance and results show in the photo gallery below from FOX. Missed any of their performances? Watch them all in our Top 5 show recap.
Were we watching the same program? I guess that explains six blind men looking at an elephant. Different perceptions. For me, the show had one thing going for it, Adam Lambert. None of the final 5 has ANY chance at a national career as a singer. Local small venues perhaps, but no wide appeal at all that I can see. I will miss Idol in the coming years but the producers keeping the public from voting until this point ruined what might have been a worthwhile final season.
