American Idol 2018 Top 14: Did The Judges Make The Right Decisions?

We officially have our American Idol 2018 Top 14 following Monday night’s Top 24 duet performances and the judges final eliminations.

And as always, we’ve found ourselves asking did the judges make the right decisions? I will say that the people they sent on to the Top 14 this Monday night made more sense than last Monday’s.

That means that some of the people who didn’t make it through Monday night should have instead of a few how made it through last week and vice versa. But since they split them into two groups, it didn’t play out that way. They should have waited until both groups performed before they made cuts. The way they did it seems kind of shady. I hope that all makes sense.

In case you’re just now catching up, or need a reminder, the official Top 14 is below:

And since I like telling it like it is, here’s how I would have changed the Top 14 if it were up to me. I would have cut Catie Turner instead of Effie Passero. I would have cut Gabby Barrett instead of Layla Spring. And I would have cut Garrett Jacobs instead of Brandon Diaz or Dominique.

But for the most part, I think the Top 14 is solid. I can’t believe four will be going home next week, giving us the American Idol Season 16 Top 10, but it’s a shorter season than we’re used to so they have to get those numbers down faster than usual.

What do you think of the official American Idol 2018 Top 14? Did the judges make the right decisions? Who would you have rather seen stay and/or go?
