The auditions portion of this season will fill the rest of January before moving on to Hollywood Week the first episode in February. From there we’ll spend two weeks in Hollywood before the Top 40 are confirmed from the spoilers.

Once the Idol Hopefuls reach Las Vegas they’ll be there for two weeks and perform while split into groups based on sex. Ten of the guys will perform that Wednesday while ten girls will perform the next night. The other half of each group will perform the following week. Each night five singers will be eliminated leaving us with the Top 20 at the end of the Las Vegas rounds.

With the Top 20 singers determined they’ll perform again based on sex with the guys going on a special Tuesday episode and the girls following that Wednesday. America’s votes will then be tallied and revealed that first Thursday in March. Beyond that we’ll hit our stride with the usual Wednesday/Thursday and performance/elimination episodes until we reach the finale in late May 2013.

We will continue to update and expand this list as the American Idol 2013 season progresses.

  1. so if I understand this correctly, only one contestant gone per week once we have a top 20 for America to vote on…that would be a huge change from the past

  2. I agree the divas are very annoying, especially to the people watching the show. It would be nice to have steven Tyler back. It was actually fun to watch when he was on the show.

  3. Get rid of Nicki she is annoying. I haven’t missed a season of idol but I won’t watch her anymore. she detracts from the whole process.

  4. Isn’t bad enough we have to suffer weeks of seeing total no talents. ( For effect?) but occasionally they actually pass a toatal joke? And yes get rid of Nicki. This show will end this year.

  5. What Nicky had to say to Matheus was cold and uncalled for. Another reason I don’t like her . If she felt that his choice of songs was coming across as him wanting pity, she should not have humiliated him . Instead she could have taken him aside later and let him know whyshe felt.that way. A Simon she will never be, she is much to much immature to be judging anyone.

  6. What Nicky had to say to Matheus was cold and uncalled for. Another reason I don’t like her . If she felt that his choice of songs was coming across as him wanting pity, she should not have humiliated him. You need to get rid of Nicki she is very immature and is taking away from American Idol!!!!!!!!

  7. How could the judges kept the girl who played drums she is terrible and they let go of a girl who could sing shame on the judges I thought they were suppose to be professionals

  8. Appears to me Idol is rigged this time around to select a winner that is more socially acceptable to the likes of the 2 divas on the show. They are supressing good talent for not so good.

  9. I love Idol but sure do miss Steven Tyler n Jenifer Lopez as judges, get em back keep Randy dog n Mariah n wow, Perfect show.

  10. What does it take to the producers of this show to understand that Nikki just fucks this show?

  11. Why do you bother to watch if you hate the show? Can you read a book. Get a life. Don’t you know black people are naturally vocally blessed. It’s one of God’s gifts to that race, among many. Life has moved on and left you in past of yesterdays idoits. God loves everyone, even you with your black heart. Yes I said black. When you find love for others, God’s light will shine on you. Not until you stop the self hatered. Love yourself, then you can love others. God bless you always. Stop with the hate mail. Nobody cares what you think about the show. We watch because we love music, and love everyone for coming out and doing there best. Everyone

peace be with you, and love.

  12. Producers need to listen to fans about Nicki Minaj. She’s not a joke – she’s a serious problem. If AI respects the contestants who are talented enough to have come this far in the competition, letting “Miss Minny” judge them from here on out seems irresponsible. She votes with a self-centered mind, like a child who is always “against” what everybody else likes, especially to spite Mariah – at the expense of the contestants. Her opinions have little to do with talent. I believe she’s a liability to the show & the network. I’m not going to stop watching the show right now out of respect for these kids. I’m going to keep watching to see if the producers will protect the integrity of the program by assuring that no judge (namely NM) is just playing games with them. I commend Randy for trying not to draw undue attention to the pouting, stubborn little girl to his right. It seems she wants the whole show to revolve around her. Somebody’s got to get tough – contract or not!
